How does VZW pricing compare with other carriers in your area? VZW has the reputation of being expensive. Does it cost all that much more than the most prevalent carrier in your area?

verizon and att have literally identical pricing. Verizon's pricing is pretty fair, it really their data prices that run a little high.
There are some regional carriers with great plans if you don't leave your home area. But I personally prefer to be with a larger carrier with better nationwide coverage.

VZW has almost identical pricing to AT&T on the postpaid side. The only real difference in voice-price-value is the rollover minutes at AT&T. Actual advertised $$$ prices are the same.
Both carriers have variable "administrative charges" that they tack on above and beyond each month, but I'm not sure how they compare and I'm certain they're less then $1.00 per line difference.
