yeah no doubt... it's a pretty sweet phone
...
Yeah I like it. The UI looked very similar to the Voyager(good thing). Interesting with this and the Venus touch screen sliders..
...
Eh.. I'm not a fan of the Venus... and I have a buddy that has a Glimmer... its a nice phone. Would be a great addition to the line up.
from what i can tell the Glimmer and the Scoop are the only two additions that would be worth anything
...
Yeah I like Venus ok but I would never own one. I like the full HTML browser though, so the glimmer wouldn't work for me either.
...
i haven't had an oppurtunity to play with the glimmers browser... could be a market for it as an alternative to the voyager (basically people that want a touch screen cuz its cool, not because its a good phone) - take that as i mean it, not as it written if that makes sense... LOL
...
It will make for a good alternative to the Dare actually. Two roughly the same sized devices, one with the slide down dialpad and one without. The other plus, unlike rural buyouts, this turnover will be easy. Just have to add the devices and ESNs into the device management database and have them flashed in store (if you want all the Verizon extras (media center etc))...but the phones working on the network is a snap. Picture the commercial...the At&t, t-mo and sprint guys knock on the wizards door, door opens to chad and the wizard, opens a bit more and shows test man and the network 🤣

WIIIZZZZAAARRRDDDD!!!

will we actually be able to buy glimmers for verizon? i'd love to get one. i have the chocolate which i love, but i tried out the venus and wasn't too crazy about it. the glimmer seems like a good phone.
...
word on the street is you could buy one even through alltel, put it on your verizon account, and then have the software flashed so that you may get all the Verizon "things" I have no evidence to back up that claim or to even say it would work... but it does sound logical, verizon would just have to come up with its software for the glimmer
...
theoretically, you wouldnt have to do anything. VZW would just need to add all the alltel ESNs to their database and allow the devices on their network. the phone will work with alltels software (i use to have a sprint razr i flashed to alltel and still used it on sprint).
now you wouldnt get all the vzw features but sms and calls should work. you may or may not get EVDO coverage tho.
although i sooooo want VZW to allow the alltel devices on their network, i wont be holding my breath.
...
Even if we are capable of flashing the phone, in order to purchase it you would need an acct with alltel even at full retail. would probably want to order on ebay. but i dont know if its true that it can be flashed
