VZW Centro not as good as Sprint's and AT&T's??

FunnyFrank

I heard that Verizon's Centro will lack features that is on Sprint's and AT&T's. Like TV. Also what colors will it be coming in? And why does VZW wait so long to release this phone? It's been out at Sprint for 9 months and AT&T for 6 months. I heard Sprint has a second version of the centro coming out this summer and a Treo 800w.

oh yeah...the reason im asking is because i may upgrade to it. my sister has the pink one from sprint and it does everything except the dishes (hahaha thats why they call me Funny Frank). You can watch ESPN and MTV or even stream radio stations on it. Here is what I dont understand...the other guys sell it for $99.99 and it does all these things. Verizon is gonna sell it for $200 and it probably wont do those things (correct me if im wrong). And please tell me it will be out in white or black. Yuck to the blue color.

Actually...if you can read i asked a few questions...i will list them out.

1. DOes it come in more than one color?
2. How does it compare to Sprint's and AT&Ts?
3. Does it have TV and/or Radio?
4. Why $200?

Thanks, you have a nice day as well.

You come to the VZW forum with questions you already know the answer to, then want someone to explain it to you. There is a word for posts like yours. Trolling.

Actually i said correct me if I'm wrong. I'm asking these questions because I am eligile to upgrade. I want to know if I should wait for this phone because I like the ones I've seen. I've been calling Verizon about this phone and nobody knows about it. So here I am. I created an account because a friend told me to get my answers here. WOW!!!!!

1 - Historically speaking, it's going to come out in one color. Now for palm/pda devices, that's it don't expect anymore colors. However, for a consumer oriented device like this, you may see different colors 6 months after release date.

2 - I believe the technical specs are the same.

3 - I don't think the Sprint/AT&T's Centros have an radio FM chip or MediaFLO chip, if that's what you're asking. You can do those things on any palm ...

Ok, I am revising my post because I need answers before I upgrade. I am looking for a phone I can subscribe to TV and use as a PDA. I love the Centro. I've played with other carriers' Centros. GREAT!!! I've been told that they may lack in features compared to AT&T and Sprint versions, but thats what I heard so I could be wrong. Who knows. I dont know how TV works with Verizon so I'm asking. Also I would like to know if it is coming in any other colors besides blue (not a huge fan but I can settle)? Lastly with todays gas prices I am attempting to cut costs whenever I can. Is there is reason why its $200? Or will it go down in price? Thanks!

I'm sorry your about your bad experience on getting a great response on phonescoop. People on the VZW forum are all about vzw and don't like anything negative to be said. I also work for vzw and you are 100 percent right the new palm phone is not has good as other carriers. Its just sad that vzw cripples phones. we lose thousands of customers a year because of that reason. You get so much more with other carriers

Ok BBwhatever your name is please go back to the AT&T forum. You don't work for Verizon and we all know that. You want the I-Phone the updated 3G version that lacks voice activated dialing, MMS, video capture, and a removable battery. Many people love Verizon cause they can use their phone anywhere. It doesn't matter if the phone is crippled. The primary purpose of having a phone is as a phone. If you can't make a call on it you are carrying a brick. Maybe you could take your I-Phone along with other carriers none crippled phones and build some houses for the poor. They sure do need it in this economy. Hell gas is already over 4 bucks. Now please crawl into your little hole and stfu.

I don't know about the HTML support but from what I hear the Slingbox works well so you can watch your tv on the Centro. Provided you have data plan minutes.
