Look I have been hearing some people in here talk about vzw not having gsm or only having a couple gsm phones and oo they are only good in the us. You know what who cares!! Most people may think They are cool to have a world phone or gsm phone that would work if they go overseas but you know going on one European vaca in 5 years is no need to have a gsm phone. Most people round these parts go to the Caribbean or mexico and guess what---they work. Another thing, whether you have att or tmobile and go overseas its still as expensive as hell to use it! Get a prepaid phone and shut up.

🙄 have you ever looked at international roaming rates. It is far cheaper to get a prepaid phone at the airport in europe then to use a global phone from verizon or roam with a US gsm carrier. And what the heck do you mean the world phone would not work in paris...if you are talking about personal experience you do realize you had to call and get the service added to your account and get an international sim before you went? Global phones work fine in france..i think it is like $1.29 a minute

You know that's my point. Whether you have vzw sprint tmobile or att they all have phones that work overseas, but you are going to pay an arm and a leg for the service. If you are someone that values great service in the country you live in go vzw. You don't need to get att/tmobile so you can say your phone will work overseas especially when the majority of people are not making frequent trips. Besides in a year when vzws open aCcess is in full effect then there you go the iphone won't be enough(not that it is now) and no one will have to worry about having a gsm phone they have never gone overseas with.

You can actually connect to wifi with a T-Mobile phone overseas and not be charged the international fees. I just thought I'd throw that out there...

Well TMobile is originally a European carrier, right? Makes sense.

Yeah, but that's not why it works. A wifi signal is a wifi signal. When a call goes through the internet, T-Mobile isn't paying anything extra for that call going through the internet regardless of where that connection is made. I'm not actually sure if they can even determine where that connection is made. By offering that wifi service, you have a back door to making unlimited international calls at no extra charge.

T-Mobile in Europe is a pretty different carrier than T-Mobile in the US.
