I've never had a blackberry but always wondered why they had the most loyal fanbase out there. (that's why they call them crackberries lol)

Can you guys tell me what's so special about blackberries that other smart phones like palm and iphone don't have, and why people who have a blackberry refuse to buy any other phone brand? No trolling and no carrier wars, I really want to know because I am thinking of getting a smart phone when I get tired of my Voyager... 😁

When RIM came out with this device, it struck the hearts of millions of businesses out there, especially when corporate emailing was becoming revolutionary and significant to business operations. RIM marketed this thing as a relatively low cost emailing machine (because back in the day, PDAs were hella expensive) that isn't as complicated as a PDA. Over time, the operating system for Blackberry proved to be the most reliable and stable OS out there. It hardly crashed, unlike other PDAs (e.g. WinMo) where you would have to do a soft reset on a weekly basis.

At least I think so ...

I honestly thought it was something about the phones themeselves, like Motorola vs LG vs Samsung etc where they had the same UI just different features and quality
