Because it's time for me to upgrade!!! Apparently the Centro wont have TV (wtf?). So i need full web browser and TV. Any windows devices or Blackberry? What about the 755 Palm?

I know Verizon just launched TV but why wouldn't any high end phones have TV? I don't want to switch. I got BLASTED before for mentioning this but I'm going to say it again....Sprint offers TV on Centro, Blackberry, Palm, Windows, and even RAZR, Samsung slider and LG Music. Actually I think more of their phones have TV then don't. Not sure about AT&T's TV but their data is too slow according to my buddy.

What about that Blackberry touch screen phone coming out? I'm willing to wait. I just need both web and TV. I can't half a$$ it.

Verizons mobile tv has been out for a good while now. Sprints tv is not the same as mobile tv it is more like vcast. Know yer facts. Mobile tv is live and simul or multicast. It wont be on the thunder either. Figure out your priorities when it comes to a phone.

Nope...sorry bro. First off, I've been with Verizon for years. I dont want to switch. So I'm avoiding that at all costs. But my sister has a pink Centro and her Sprint TV is 100% live TV. There is about a 5 second delay from whats on the actual TV. We tested it out and there was live streaming TV for almost 20 channels like Spike, MTV, ESPN, Fox, CNN, Disney, Discovery, Comedy Central, E, VH1, Fox Sports, etc. But I can assure you that the Centro has live TV as on regular cable.

It's not easy to switch when you've been with a company for so long. You try to stay loyal and find what you need within that company. Customer care had no clue...thats why I'm here asking.

The Voyager is going be the closest thing to a PDA that gets TV, it has a full HTML browser and you have 3 plans to choose from for the Mobile TV package. We do have several phones that have Mobile TV, but none on the PDA's, sorry.

CS doesn't have the info because they have not had the training on the Centro that has not been released yet. I am sorry, that you can't get the answer you need, but training should be this week and the release should be next week, so if can be patient, I am sure your can get answers.
BTW if you are only looking for TV and Internet, have you looked at the Voyager? This is just a suggestion and I know there are people who love or hate the Voyager, but if you don't need the rest of the PDA/Blackberry features, you can still have HTML and TV- that is if you live a mobile TV service area.
Good luck in your quest! 😉

Awesome. Thanks. Someone just told me about the Voyager. I wasn't aware it had full HTML. I'm not looking to sync up email or anything. Just web and TV as I will be on the road a lot without computer or TV. Guess I need some sort of entertainment.

One thing- since you are on the road - be aware that you will not get TV service in all locations. You can check the coverage map on the VZW website. Have a great day.

Verizon launched tv service about two years ago in a Venture w/ MediaFlo. It has been in relatively limited markets.

No pda's to my knowledge currently support Vcast Tv, so you would be stuck with those that can play You Tube and Windows Media Files. The BB Curve did a pretty good job of playing video, from what I saw, and I imagine the VX6800 would, as well.

You can get a third party app for the PDAs so you can watch TV on them via internet. It won't be broadcasted like MediaFLO devices though because that requires additional hardware.

I forgot about that app. The last I heard about it was from a palm rep about a year and a half ago, and at the time it was considered a prohibited service on our network.

No pdas on verizon have tv. It is not that big an item. As to why there arent more tv phones it is simple. The market is not really there. There is more to watch on vcast than mobile tv.

I played with TV on the LG 9400 and it was incredible. I'm going to be in a position where I wont have access to TV as much as I'd like. Here's where Verizon TV comes into play. I also need web access because I'm not going to buy a laptop.

From what I've seen many people are interested in TV. Why wouldn't any VCAST phone have TV? Just seems to make sense. I gotta make my mind up soon on which phone because this Krzr isnt holding up too well.

Based on those wants then you should get the voyager. Qwerty internet and tv. More phones dont have mediaflo for tv because the market isnt really there. There isnt a big selection on there for mediaflo on vzw or att yet. Not until qualcomm gets more licensing agreements. You have to decide what is a want and what is a need.

Let's try this again. Second post in this darn Verizon forum and I'm getting sarcastic answers and the run around. Second time I had to revise my post to get my answers too. I hope all these people dont actually work for Verizon. Getting bashed for weighing out my options...

Ok...say I do get a laptop even though I prefer not to. What regular phones have TV? Verizon customer care didnt give me consistent answers to my questions so I'm here asking.

You keep asking the same freaking questions, which are suspect to begin with. If you really truly want answers, take what people give you and then do some of your own work. Plus you keep making comments on how verizon sucks cause they don't offer "TV" phones.

By simply going to verizonwireless.com you could have found out all of the vcast mobile TV phones in less than 3 minutes.

If you truly want answers--go get them.

"forums are a pita"---what does that mean.

And they could spend 10 min a day cleaning up this forum (closing threads, deleting troll post, etc)

It could be done--they just have to do it.

P.I.T.A. Pain in the a$$. And it takes a lot more than 10 mintues to moderate a forum. This isn't the only forum with trolls, which is plain when you visit the ATT forum and find the Verizon guys playing in there. Everytime you moderate a post you get at least one or two guys who try to waste your time by demanding to know why it is moderated- usually by opening yet another thread.

Can you have effective moderation? Absolutely, but to do so would require a full time mod or two, above and beyond the administration that Rich does.

Fair enough. You're prolly right about the 10 minutes thing. but when a large portion of your website is built around a variety of user forums you would think they would put the time and effort into some of your more higly active forums.

The better the forums are, the better this website will become. which ultimately equals more hits and revenue for the owners.

I don't disagree with you there, and I think Rich will eventually swing that way. It may take awhile though, as most of your successful review sites are front page/content driven and the forums are relative loss leaders for them. Necessary to the health and popularity of the site, but still a loss.

I plan on getting the Blackberry Thunder and signing up for MobiTV. Its not the quality of MediaFlo but at least there's many more channels.

Right now its only available for the Pearl and a couple Windows devices,Treo 700w, Treo 700wx, Treo 700p, Treo 755p, Motorola Q, VX-6700, and the XV6800.

Its $9.95 per month. I'm sure it will be available for the Thunder at some point.

Get a blackberry curve or bold when it comes out, a satellite dish, and a slingbox and just sling it to your phone. You will get 500 channels then and probably digital radio as well. And no monthly service charge each month. One time up front cost to purchase slingbox and your monthly charges with satellite gives you the best of both worlds at home and on the road.
