I am right again

Just like the Glyde, the Dare will be forgotten very soon. The bottom line is that this phone is nothing more then a Voyager with no physical keyboard. Say what you will about the browser, it still sucks big time and is as slow if not slower then the Voyager. Many of you get so hyped about this stuff, you lose all sense of reality when posting reviews to quickly. Many will post a positive review solely for the purpose to justify their purchase and to fish for more positive reviews. The Dare is cute but it's nothing to write home about.

I am anxious to see what phone will get all of the hype next.

The biggest thing about the dare is the adjustment in direction that Verizon's phones are taking. The redesigned UI that is farther away than the "evil red" UI that everyone complains about. The camera features are all new as well as the new "VCast Music with Rhapsody" that has started. And probably the biggest thing is what you can do with bluetooth. After locking down everything, more and more bluetooth profiles have been opened. So while it may not be anything "more than a voyager with no physical keyboard" it has made several advancements and IS something to be somewhat excited about.

I think this is an unfair statement to make.

What phone, besides the iPhone 3g and the Nokia N-series can match feature for feature what the Dare does?

I can't think of any and if your gripe is simply you don't like touch screen phones then state that and not these trite.

Then again you could just be a troll. Goddamn it I just fed another troll.

I suspect the next over-hyped phone is gonna be the 3g iPhone...

There's no 3g in my market.

From reading your previous post, I see that you are very happy with your Voyager. That is great. I am pleased to hear that you are happy with your choice. Now, let other people make there choice. I have played around with both the Voyager and the Dare. Personally, I am not sure if I want only touchscreen, but I have to make that call. Trust me, after playing around with the Dare, I learned quickly that I won't need a physical keyboard. I will have options of T9, Qwerty or Handwriting for my messaging.
No one needs to justify the phone they choose! I currently have the EnV and love that little brick and it's Qwerty keyboard! That does not mean that people who choose another device are wrong! It is all about what works for YOU!

To each his/her own. People look for what they want in a phone and purchase it.

I, myself am not into the feature-ridden phones (Voyager, Dare, Venus, etc.). I like to keep it simply, classy and practical.
I'll never buy the Dare, or the Voyager as I'm really happy with my old VX8600 and am looking into the U550 just because I like to keep it simple.

Sure, there's a lot of hype with these phones, but the only one we have to blame is the iPhone, had that not come around then there wouldn't be need for anything to compete with it.

Phones are phones, most everyone wants one that'll do everything and look pretty.

It's just another mix-n-match of some features people want - some people actually don't like the physical qwerty, believe it or not.

Like all those people who bought iPhones.

Personally, I like having the keyboard, too, but not everyone needs 'em.
