No 7PM? No Rollover? So...what do I get here???

PeterGriffin

First off, I am a Verizon customer. Have been for 5 years. But I'm about to be a free agent and I see all these nice deals elsewhere. AT&T has Rollover. Sprint has 7pm (or even 6pm) nights. What does Verizon have that competes with these cool features? Because I may stay if I'm missing something here. I'm just sick of these high bills.

Quality of service if a couple extra bucks is breaking the bank than move on. But keep in mind You'll never find a network as great as verizon's. I encourage you to join Sprint, you'll see.

Service is all the same. I got plenty of friends and family on Sprint and AT&T and they have no issues with service. In fact, there was an area where they got service on their phones with Sprint and I got no service. Sure, I'm sure its reversed in some areas but point is service is all the same. Especially when Sprint roams for free off of Verizon.

Peace out homie, if something is cheaper and fits your needs then go for it, I would never switch to anyone besides at&t but they do not work at my house. Sprint's customer service is a joke and they are very bad...do you think that they had a net loss of almost 2million customers in the last two quartes and even attempted to sell off Nextel portion because every thing was going great? To top off their already horrible cs they cut jobs(sure thats going to help) So if want to leave Verizon for at&t..ok whatever but if you want to go to sprint then have fun and learn your lesson. The only people I know that still use sprint couldn't pass verizon or at&t's credit standards

Funny, cause that is the only people I know with Sprint. Is the people that couldn't pass Verizons Credit Check, or they either have Metro Pcs (yuck).

People fail to realize in this era, that you pay for quality. (PeterGriffin) mentioned that all service is the same. Clearly you missed the Memo that, everyone service is not the same.

I could have someone pay my monthly bill for me and I wouldn't go back to Sprint. I delt with AT&T and in my opinion, they were no better. I could never get coverage.

So I would recommend that you soar in whatever direction the wind is taking you too. When it comes to finding a new carrier.

Couldn't pass credit check??? If someone has no credit or bad credit they have to pay a deposit. The only reason a person can't open an account is if they have a outstanding balance with that carrier...you have to pay that off first before they can apply for service again. Ive never heard of anyone being turned away because no credit or bad credit.

What are you talking about??? I wasn't challenging anything...I was stating facts FANBOY! Find something else better to do besides getting online every single day trolling and bashing loser! ๐Ÿคจ So what if people go with Sprint just because they have cheaper deposits than other major carriers...that is their business. Why do you care? I also don't care about Sprint having the highest churn...I will go with the carrier that provides the best service for my needs. I plan on switching carriers @ the end of the year and right now VZW is my pick but that may change. Ive also considered At&t and Sprint.

Um no the facts are sprint business model is a disaster at this point in time....even Dan Hesse knows that catering to the credit challenged has created a significant blow to their business model. You really aren't up on current events are you? Try to keep up.

please, port out to sprint. we will see you back in a few weeks.

I wish everyone would quit saying that Sprint roams free off of Verizon. That is not a true statement, at least not everywhere. The only areas they may roam off of Verizon are the areas where Sprint doesn't offer service. My are for example we have both. Sprint signal simply sucks and Verizon is awesome. I can assure you that people with Sprint phones are on the Sprint towers with little to no service and their phones won't roam on Verizon. The areas where they both don't offer service are going to be few. In the areas where they do both offer service, like most, then Verizon is way above Sprint. The only exception may be in a large city. In rural areas or outside of a city there is no comparison.

You are incorrect. SPRINT ROAMS FOR FREE OFF ANY CDMA TOWER VERIZON ESPECIALLY. It is true that your phone will look for a Sprint tower first and if it does get one will stay on Sprint (even if you fading back and forth between no coverage and 1 bar), however MOST Sprint phones can be forced to roam which is FREE. You can find this option under the settings in sub category Roaming or on some models sub category others. Then under set-mode you can change it to "Roaming Only".

I am an indirect Sprint store owner, and I really wish that VZW reps would get off their high horse, yes the service is great, probably hands down the best, but the "our sh*t doesnt stink" attitude is the worst. Sprint has had some bad decisions made and ultimately ha...

Yes we've had crappy sprint phones before where there is no service and we have to 'force' ๐Ÿ™„ our phones to roam so we can pick up a Verizon tower! It's not FREE! ๐Ÿ™„ sprint will kick your ass of its network if you roam to much. THe moral of the story is sprint native network is tiny, and forcing your phone to roam on verizon is the best thing you can say about sprint. ๐Ÿ™„ Can't wait to see how many customers sprint lost last quarter, what another million people who can't wait to get away from that network, while others add millions.

Werent you the guy saying that Sprint only offers phones to people with shot credit, now you are saying that you have had a Sprint phone, are you one of those horrible unworthy customers, happy as a pig in sh*t because you finally could afford to put a phone on an employee plan?

Roaming for FREE (yes Sprint will terminate you if you roam more than 50% of the time for three consecutive months) is not the best thing to be said about Sprint. I would choose the selection of interesting handsets, 7pm nights (6pm if you want), bundled rate plans (voice, msg, data), and the fact that Sprint has a "never say die" attitude as some of the best things to say about Sprint. Like I said Verizon is a great company, but so is Sprint, t-Mobile, AT&T, and ...

Exactly so stop spreading false info ๐Ÿ™„ Sprint will kick you off their network, you can't roam for FREE ๐Ÿ™„

7 pm nights and all that other BS is not getting sprint customers ๐Ÿ™„ , reason being is because sprint's network sucks, their customer service sucks, and they have highest churn in the industry for a reason!... not to mention the millions upon millions who are fleeing, and paying more at decent networks like verizon and att. Sprint is giving away the farm for a reason ace, they're are desperate, get a clue ๐Ÿ™„

I would just be happy that I have a quality network. Since Verizon uses CDMA technology, you're voice quality is the same no matter how many bars of service you have. I'm sure the same is true for Sprint, but they usually only work in the big cities and suburbs. I absolutely hate AT&T's network because I don't think they realize how GSM works and that they seriously need to have a tower like every couple miles because GSM voice SUCKS unless you live right next to a cell phone tower. You really have to have 4-5 bars in order to have a good call like CDMA. Otherwise, you'll be having dropped calls and distorted voice quality.

I was once approached by a T-Mobile salesperson in a mall, and he asked me if I had a cell phone. I told him that I did, and he asked me how much I was paying, etc. He told me that I was paying too much, to which my response was, "It always works for me, so it doesn't matter how much I pay."

Really, why do people not simply appreciate the fact that their service just works? I can. And I never once called VZW to expect anything that I didn't see offered publicly. Get onto the correct plan, and you'll no longer see any high bills. Oh, and use #MIN and #DATA toward the end of your bill cycle and call to have a calling plan change back-dated if necessary.

Actually they just added a bunch of new customers according to the business journal. They have a fantastic June. The new plans are helping quite a bit. With this economy people are looking to save money. Why not save money?? Even if it's $20 bucks???? $20 bucks is $20 bucks!!!! It's money. I can put it towards something else. Like i've said. I don't make money to throw it away.

So instead of throwing away $20 you're throwing away a whole monthly fee on a crappy carrier. Loosing thousands even millions of customers should be a sign.

Ok everyone knows that the reason for Sprints troubles is a lot of bad decisions made by the old CEO. People are constantly throwing alcohol on Sprints open wounds! They are slowly but surely changing for the better! Everyone needs to stop bringing up the fact they have lost customers...EVERYONE ALREADY KNOWS! Stop posting the same negative crap everyday. If you don't work for Sprint or even have the service why come here to bash??? Why do you care so much? Too many fanboys here...smh. VZW has had their issues. One major one is the fact they have been providing phone records to the government for years. Tisk tisk. ๐Ÿคจ

I would have to agree with you...a few years VZW customer too (my wife and I) and we're about to jump ship to Sprint for the same reason, HUGE BILLS.

I am quite confident that VZW has the best coverage and better customer service, but in my opinion I just don't see that being worth 50% more cost (unlimited plans).

Every time I tell anyone in this Verizon forum, or in a store etc that I'm thinking of switching they all resort to VZW's slogan "it's the network"...but you know what? "The network" ain't worth 50% more cost than everyone else.

Verizon needs to get a clue as I'm quite sure there are a lot of other people in these tough economic times looking for a better deal that don't give a hoot if their coverage area decreases a bar...
