I have a question for VZW call center reps. When your centers have been open Christmas does it seem like you've had enough volunteers so that no one is drafted to work? We've just been told that we may be open Christmas. I wonder if Verizon gives Muslims an automatic pass not to work on holidays like Ramadan.

There will not be enough volunteers so, if you are not high on the seniority, you will be working. Even if that is your scheduled day off! They will give you the option of overtime pay or another day off. The call centers rotate holidays. So, if you will have Thanksgiving off this year, you will work Christmas. Next year it will be the opposite. It may depend on the center and department, but I think you would only work until 5pm.

Now that they are rotating holidays if you are a recent hire you maybe stuck working the holiday. Some call centers like our 24 hour center in SC don...
