Does any one know what the benefits of becoming Verizon Wireless Agent vs Alltel Agent may be?

Support?

Commissions?

DOA Process?

Warranty Repair Process?

Do VZW Angents have to buy phones upfront?

Activation process speedy?

how does Co-op work?

Is your phone vender srictly Verizon if not please list?

Any thing else that possibly could be different for the better or worse?

Just go here:

http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/aboutUs/reseller/ ... »

Anyway, I'm pretty sure that you get your phones from the manufacturer. They're your phones, not VZW's. Your return process is whatever your want it to be, and we'd only deal with manufacturer's warranties.

I'm pretty sure that activations are pretty fast, although I can't be sure, as I've never worked as an agent before. As for your other questions, just direct them to the above Web site.

Does it matter? Alltel is now part of Verizon and if you get hired by Altell, they might let you go soon or switch the store to Verizon.

Correction. Alltel is NOT part of Verizon yet...the merger was announced but not completed. They are still two independently owned and operated companies.

As to the OP's original questions....yea go to where kevin said.

Plus keep in mind that in some markets where both Verizon & Alltel serve, Alltel could be divested. So for an Alltel agent, that agent might end up eventually reselling someone else's service, and not Verizon. I don't know how all that works out on the agent level.

Phones are NOT purchased from the manufacture. Most purchase from VZW primarily then there is also Brightstar (VZW honors there warranty). There are some other ones out there but VZW and Brightstar are the main ones that are used for ease of warranties.

Support: We get have a lot of training available from our account managers and data reps (if that is what you meant). Also we do have a somewhat direct line to Care so you don't have to go through the endless prompts.

DOA Process: If you purchased phones from VZW you just fill out a few boxes in the WOW (phone ordering site) site, print off the slip along with the PO or Customer receipt (only have to do it with customer returns within the first 30 days) and send it off. When VZW receives it they will make sure they can replicate the problem and credit your WOW account, it's pretty easy but VZW is kinda strict with making sure everything is done correctly.
With Brightstar it is really, really easy. Fill out a few things on the website and...

Thank you very much for the Reply, this helps, I own a alltel agency now. And most people here dont understand the kind of money that we agent owners have to invest into a business like this. You get guys to say does it matter? heck yeah it does, its what I invested my future in. It would be nice to know a head of time for when VZW takes us over. I did fill out the contact info at that reseller link and have not heard from them yet, possibly they are not looking to add on agents because of the alltel buy out. So far everything sounds very simular to way Alltel works the system?

Does Verizon Wireless reccomend a pos software such as Iqmetrix like alltel does?

Are your activations done over (html) internet like alltel or is there a softw...
