I'm not here to bash Verizon. They're a great company and there is no denying that. I was with them for 8 years. At one point yes, Verizon had the best service by far. At this point the top 3 networks are almost identical as far as signal goes. Maybe Verizon has a larger coverage area by 10% or so but Sprint has a larger REV A EVDO network. I just switched and service is actually better with Sprint in a few areas. Everywhere else it's identical. If I happen to loose signal (which I haven't yet) I can just roam on Verizon or Alltel for free.

Most importantly I am saving A LOT of money and actually getting more. As a consumer thats very important. Money is not something to throw out the window.

With Verizon I was getting 59.99 for 450 ...

Lol 🤣 i don't choose my phone service to be popular or based on what other people are doing. Actually, I know just as many people on Sprint as Verizon and AT&T. I just don't know anyone on T-Mobile.

I'm thinking about it myself. I've been a Verizon customer for longer, and find myself less than enthusiastic about their current crop of phones. My wife needs a new phone badly, but even the simple phones she seems to like (the Motorola w755) have been wounded. The deal breaker for her was seeing banner ads on the web browser knowing she's paying a premium for data without a plan.

Plus, I'm not happy about a 2 year deal or paying hyper-retail. Verizon has been quite aggressive in trying to get me to come in for new phones, but seems not to be willing to give everyone the same phone under a two year deal.

Verizon has dynamite coverage where I live, but I've been dialing 611 on an AT&T GoPhone and listening to the same prompts in a ...

ATT is actually priced the same or higher as Verizon. How would you save money?

Good questions plus ATT sucks. I know times are tough but now more than ever reliability is worth a few extra dollars.

ATT stinks in my area. I'm sure it doesn't stink everywhere. I would venture to say that Tmobile has the worst coverage of any of the national carriers. Sprint probably has the worst customer sevice.

New customer promotion deals. You're right, published rates are identical. Existing customers on Verizon don't get squat, although tomorrow when I get a sales rep on the phone, I'm sure they'll be able to do something.

It's more than just saving money though. I'm quite tired of the phones Verizon offers being crippled and stepped-upon for whatever purpose. The real advantage of AT&T is that I can get just about anything I want. Verizon, I can get whatever I want that Verizon deems acceptable.

This is a phone forum. People come here to talk about phones, serivce, etc.
I don't understand why everyone is so touchy about the subject.

Look running around in here trying to make sprint look good is an impossible task, maybe you ain't up on current events but sprint is getting its ass kicked. Now go play in the sprint forum and high five in there.

Well...in that case...AT&T is kicking Verizon's ass. 71 million customers!! With iPhone weekend coming up I'm sure it will just grow from there.

Whatever, Sprint has 53 million. So what? Things don't change overnight.

Btw, all I've heard is Verizon has the best network when i don't see any difference in quality!!!!

That's what it comes down to.
If you're getting the same quality service for cheaper then go for it.
I have experienced some rough Sprint customer service (used to be an indirect retailer for Sprint) but if it works for you and you're saving money, that's what matters.
I am a VZW fan but it just might not work for everyone, that's the way that it goes.

Verizon getting their @$$ kicked will soon be past tense after the buyout of Alltel. They will not only be the nations most reliable, but largest national carrier! 😁

And that ain't even the case now Verizon has the lowest churn with the most post paid customers. Peter is just having a hard time reassuring himself that he made the right decision.
