Big Daddy Jay tell us about your ev-do experience
how is it like?
whats the speeds on the downlink and uplink?
hows the latency?
is it worth 80 bucks per month?
when you are on the move on in your car do the speeds stay stable?
any extra information would be great.

It is working great here in Chicago but I haven't tested the speeds on it. I do have to say that being in the Mortgage business is is nice to have a service that is faster than the local dial up service most poeple have at their houses when I show up and use it. I don't really use it while driving since that isn't safe.

I did a quick test a little while ago and here is what I found. From TOAST.NET I was reporting speeds from 1032KB to 3452KB on downloads. My EV DO card has Venturi Compression Client assisting so the speeds reported are higher than what I have heard EV DO is capable of. A call was placed to a family member at Verizon Wireless and I heard that with the Venturi Software thay have had reports as high as 8mbps. Now here is the other part, Verizon advised much lower speeds because the actual numbers are dependent on network conditions and how heavy the channel is being used. The 80.00 a month is well worht the mobility for me and my wife who also uses an EV DO card. Time is money in the Real Estate and Mortgage business so 80 clams is peanu...
