My wife and I have 8600s that are dying...we are due for new any 2 until i think february they told us (and that is the early 2 months they give you before the official date)

Do we have ANY options? We went to the store and they told us that we had to wait the full two years....our phones get awful service lately...any help or promos is appreciative....I have a friend who "states" he got a coupon for an early renewal and a phone for like a 100 bucks...the voyager i think.....any info on that as well?

I thought if you have done half of your contract, that you could do an early upgrade, but you have to renew your contract??

The standard upgrade on a 2 year contract is after 20 months of 24 month contract and the primary receives the New Every 2.

The primary line (because that specific line pays over $49.99/month, 2nd lines only pay $9.99) can get an upgrade after 12 months of a 2 year contract. At this time the primary line can receive 2 year promotional pricing, they would forfeit the New Every 2 and that date would be reset to 20 months from the day you choose to do the upgrade. There's also a $20.00 processing fee unless you do it through My Verizon or are a VIP customer.

Another option is that you can activate old equipment from your account or friend or family member to hold you over until your upgrade dates.

I hope this helps. Good luck

You could always be less than honest and say your phone was lost or stolen. Then you could get a new phone at the 1 year pricing (not as cheap as 2 year, but better than full retail).

I went through this situation a couple weeks ago. My wife had a v325i that was dropping calls and wouldn't stay open. We have four lines on our account, two v325i, one vx4500 and one one vx3200 with the LGs being hand-me-downs to our kids.

My wife dealt with a corporate retail store and was not happy with that outcome. They wouldn't budge on the one line that is 4 months from being able to upgrade. I told the retail clerk that I'd gladly take my business elsewhere, to which she replied "well, don't do anything drastic, I'll talk to the manager" who offered really cheap phones to everyone if I bought accessory kits for each. Uh, no.

My wife went and bought a $10 AT&T GoPhone and started testing coverage. AT&T had one hole -- withi...
