I'm looking to get a new phone. Right now I have the Motorola Q. It's OK but looking to get a new phone. BTW I live in NYC.

-I want good call quality

-Be able to check my Hotmail account and send emails

-Check my work email but I don't need to do much with it besides respond

-Use the internet for scores, fantasy football stuff etc

-Take decent pics and be able to send them

-Use the navigation feature in my car

-Text message

-Calendar is nice but not essential

I never had a Blackberry but I've heard good things.

So I'm looking for people to convince me which phone I should get

Convince you? No, I'm not going to do that. You need info so you can decide for yourself.

BlackBerries are the class of the PDA market. The Dare is pretty slick too, but it's not a PDA...I'd go with the Curve. Mainly because it's what I have and it's what I know. I LOVE browsing the Internet with it and it's an email powerhouse.

As a phone, both selections are solid in that category.

Use the navigation feature in my car
Huh? That doesn't make any sense. Please elaborate. How does this tie in with a phone?

That's really go...

lol. I think you should make up your own mind. People arn't you and they don't have to live. Get some b*ll and make your own decisions in life

I have the BB Curve. I've had it for a week. The phone itself is pretty small and if you have large fingers like I do its not the phone for you. I am returning my BB Curve this week for something else. I also didnt like the fact that no matter how many times I set my BB up with my gmail my emails still came in as text messages which is really annoying. Yeah alot of people are gonna say that I dont know how to use and blah blah...That might be true but I dont want to learn how to use it, I'll stick with a cellphone!!

Some phones are just not good fits for people.

Personally, I absolutely LOVE my Curve (I'm posting from it now), yet some of my coworkers ended up returning it because it's "too much phone."

I like the Dare, too. I just don't know if I could really justify going to that after having this. In fact, I'm not sure I could use anything non-blackberry again!

Yeah I should've tried it in the store which was my mistake....I got a coupon to upgrade early and got $50 off. So I made the mistake once I am not going to do it again, I am going to BJ's this week and am going to mess around with the phones and choose something to my liking. I guess I aint ready for the BB Curve.

like others have said...you need to make the decision for yourself. The dare is a good device, but Im not a huge fan of the software so I would rather go with the curve. I have been using the curve for two months now and it has been an excellent device. My friend just got the dare and returned it two days later (if that means anything to you)

Get the curve, its a better device than the dare IMO, and I think it meets all of your needs.

good luck

Chris
