No hard-date for Boulder...yet.

Just off a large conf call for PTT, and VZW informed us that there is not a set released date for the Boulder, simply saying it's coming "soon". Sucks.

No worries Gunny! I think you will be happy for the wait. I mean you only have to wait like 2 weeks or around there... 😉 I love the fact that UTstarcom isnt involved with this one either. From what I have been told the speaker is finally fixed correctly too! No more muffeled sound coming out of it due to the water resistant coating on it.

Not a problem man. I actually used the new moto yesterday and to be honest with you its not all that bad. I kind of like the keypad on the moto though. The battery cover needs help BADLY. Its plastic. I dont know if they are going to change it in the final model though. I dont know how "rugged" its going to be though. I see alot of these coming back in the future from people breaking the hinge. The PTT is HELLA fast! Its faster than iDEN.

The plastic batter cover is the final version. It really not bad because it lays totally flush to the battery. I think the hinge will be fine seems like they followed the standard lets leave a little flexibility in it to prevent breakage. Just like on the ic502 powersouce phone. We shall see but I'm not worried about it.

To me it just seemed like the cover didnt really fit well in there. Its like it bowed out. There was a noticable gap. I agree with you on the hinge though. I guess time will tell. I am hella exctited about the new PTT service though!

Believe what you will, as I'm just posting what was said to me by Corporate. The date for the 28th might very well be right.
What SFG did/do you serve with, ArmySF?

Well, then I misunderstood. What were they evading a date for? Meeting was over speakerphone in a busy location.

well actually the adventure was pretty cool. the volume was really good on it so you could hear very well compared to the boulder. its also is alot small but the keys feel weird touching.

yeah I have the Adventure that is what I fear with the Boulder, I need solid RF and I'm afraid the Boulder will fall short there. I live in a strong Verizon area so I'll still give it a shot.

I think we have a real winner here. The sound quality is amazing, the updated UI is fantastic, the speaker phone is just crazy clear loud. it has missed call alerts, etc. I'm slowly working on my review, but it's very favorable tho.
