I have used my VZW service a bit in fort collins and have not had a problem. You should also think about whether you will travel to other parts of the state or region. The topography is challenging for cell service and if you are going to other locals i would encourage you to have a tri mode phone. This assumes you will be in areas other than major cities.

yeah, i understand the topography issue. i live in maine now, and although the mountains ( i call them hills, but new englanders call them mountains) aren't nearly as high, the problem is still the same.
