Call forwarding...

Can it be done from carrier to carrier? I just set up a family member with a VZW phone and I want them to have their calls forwarded from their T-Mobile #.

Also...there's no such thing as forwarding texts correct?

Thank you. 😁

VZW can forward to any domestic number. I assume T-mobile can too. And you are correct, text messages can not be forwarded.

You must not like this family member if you want to do this. Yes, call forwarding can be done from any domestic number to any other domestic number (like someone said). HOWEVER, you will use an inbound minute for the call (if not from vzw) and an outbound minute to the T-mo phone. So no matter what, you will use 1 minute for EVERY minute you use during peak hours....not the best thing to do.

And no...text messages can not be forwarded...this year 🤣 That'd be a fun lil feature to add one day.

Really? You use outbound minutes (in this case T-Mobile) if you use your verizon phone to call out? It makes sense that you only use Verizon minutes because you are calling from the number on that account...Thanks for the help guys.

Nah...

If you get an incoming call on the T-Mobile number, then it'll forward to the VZW number, using minutes on each of them.

If you get an incoming call on the VZW number, then it'll just use minutes on the VZW number.

If you make an outgoing call on the T-Mobile number, then it'll still just use minutes from the T-Mobile plan.

If you make an outgoing call on the VZW number, then it'll still just use minutes from the VZW plan.

By the way, in case it comes up, forwarding one VZW number to another VZW number doesn't count as IN (VZW-to-VZW) calling, as it really isn't a call; it's done entirely through the switch.

Thanks for confirming. The person will not use the T-Mobile phone anymore therefore not using any T-Mobile minutes at all.
