I'm still new to Verizon, but I have realized what people were talking about with Verizon limiting everything. But when I found Bitpim that helped me get past all of that. This is not me promoting a product or anything, I'm doing this because someone mention Bitpim to me and that has helped me out a lot.

So if you have a Verizon phone and want to unlock the features. Make your own Wallpaper, transfer movies & ringtones. I would suggest getting Bitpim. It's free.

This won't unlock everything. I still hate the idea that I can't stream live MP3 radio without using ORB and my computer. But hopefully soon Verizon will offer that feature on a Non-PDA phone.

This site helped me figure out how to use Bitbim:

umm, you don't have to use bitpim for any of the things you just listed, it is nice for ringtones, but sending them to yourself as an mms works just fine, or bluetooth them to your my sounds folder and mms yourself. As far as movies and wallpaper I am not sure what you are talking about, just put them on your memory card? Streaming music would be nice on a non pda but I think it is a dream to think we will ever see that, you can however do rapsody now and that is probably as close as they will get.

ALL I can say is bitpim is going to get plent of use from me as soon as somebody figueres out how to get into the file tree on the DARE so I can start replacing things with flash programs! but I not used it to get a free ringtone for years

People still use BITPIM? Why? You can easily and quickly put wallpaper, movies and mp3s by using the USB mass storage method, just connect the usb from the phone to the computer and copy and paste. Ringtones, make them the correct size then copy and paste into the sounds folder then text the tone to yourself. You can also use OBEX to transfer some stuff too. I believe the newer phone like the DARE have phone to phone OBEX enabled too.
