BB Pearl

I know it came out on VZW last Nov, but, does anyone know if there's anything in the makes for a replacement? (since it has been out for awhile on other carriers)

I plan on buying the Pearl Monday (my NE2 is finally here) and keeping it for the next 2 years, but I'd hate to buy it and see something come out real soon to replace it.

TIA.

Nothing on the horizon for CDMA.

The next CDMA BB release should be the all touchscreen BB Thunder. Other than that, I think everything else will come out in 2009.

If you want the pearl, I would go for it, although I think the curve is a better phone and the keyboard is very usable. Just my two cents.

Thanks Chris. I'm actually conflicted between the two. Mostly because the Pearl is smaller (which I like, I like to be able to stick the thing in my pocket), but the Curve is lighter and has a full keyboard.

How do you feel the Curve is a better phone. I mean, what kind of things does it have that you feel make it better?

I was thinking to get the Curve, and if I hate it, return it within the 15 days (it was 15, right?) and get the Pearl.

Decisions, decisions.

I've had the curve since day one and it has been a stellar performer. The media functions are easy to use, the camera is great, the keyboard is a breeze to type on and there is no learning curve (unlike the pearl, which will take some getting used to. The screen is also bigger which is a plus for me personally.

Overall, I just think the curve is a little bit easier to use and more functional than the pearl. If size is all you care about--get the pearl. If you want the better phone, get the curve.

I also have a review for the curve 8330 on this website, if you want some more in depth opinions. I think if sort the reviews by highest rated, mine should show up first or second.

I'll go check out your review. I think I will definitely buy the Curve, and if I think it's too big, I'll go back and get the Pearl. 🙂 I like their trade-in times.

yeah I would start with the curve, and if you like it, then keep it. If not, try your hand at the pearl or 8830.

Good Luck.

Last question. Does the Curve have the memory issue that the Pearl does (where it starts to delete messages to clear up memory)? Is that a BB thing?

Nope...no issues that I know of.

Thanks for your help. After doing some massive research, I think I'll get the Curve first, and if it's too big, get the Pearl second. 🙂
