So I just bought the lg venus yesterday. The touch screen gimmick is already starting to annoy me. I know there have been several threads touching upon the purchase of a discontinued product.

I was wondering what I would have to do if I'm currently on one of the verizon family plans. My contract for my old phone ran out a year ago so I wouldn't have to worry about that, but would there be a fee for activating a discontinued phone? What would be the process? What kind of customer care would I get from verizon, if any?

thanks

VZW doesn't care what phone you use. Login to their website and change the ESN on your account to the other phone.

If you have hardware issues- don't expect any great help there. They'll make sure the ESN on file is right and that your phone is properly programmed. If that doesn't fix the problem, you'll have to fix it on your own.
