I currently own a Sprint store, under a master agent. Like everyone else in the world, Sprint owes me too much money for unpaid activations, I just dont want to sell their product any more.
I am really interested in selling Verizon Wireless, but I dont want to go through corporate. They are way too restrictive as to what products you can have in the store.
I've been looking for a Master Agent, but cannot find one that has the ability to sell in the North East. Please help if posible.

What do you mean too many restrictions? They don't tell me what products I can and can't carry.
If you were a sub-agent you are still going to be restricted to the same things as a master agent. It's just the master agent will be responsible for over seeing you.

The corporate account rep that I met with in my area will not allow you to become an indirect unless you make you store look identical to a cor store (which is a lot more expensive than purchasing fixtures from where you please) and informed me that I was only able to sell VZW and VZW Prepaid.
I currently offer two products that I am not willing to give up, Drive Mobile (wireless for the credit challenged) and Dish Network (VZ offers DirecTV). With a Master Agent I would be able to set my store up the way that I want it as well as continue to offer the products mentioned above.
Maybe your indirect account rep is more liberal that the one in my area.

Very odd. I know the company differs in different parts of the county. I've heard some parts of the country won't accept new agents as Master Agents. They require you to be a Wireless Zone or something of that nature.
I started with Verizon back in 2004 and things have changed some since then. They've never told me what my store has to look like though. I will admit today my store looks similar to a corporate store simply because I like the look and the customers like it as well. They never required it or anything even close to requiring it.
The other weird thing is The Cellular Connection a Master Agent in my area sells Dish Network in all of their stores. I sell DirecTV and do it independently from DirecTV but I never got thei...

As far as I know, +1 is a term for companies (like mine used to be) that sell another carrier as well.

do you mean franchise? i work for a franchise and it is pretty good. i cant do a few things corporate can do, but its not bad. we blow everyone away in cs. i dont know what you mean by master agents?

I looked into the Franchise thing with The Wireless Zone. It looks good and will be the route that I take in the event that I cannot find a good Master Agent.
A Master Agent is a company that has a direct agreement with VZW corporate that includes the ability to sub contract to other dealers. basically the same as a franchise, but without Franchise fees.

It sounds like the account manager is expecting you to become a premium agent. they are required to pass the same exact audits as a corporate store. thus telling you what you carry, where you place it, what displays you use and so on.
It sounds like you are looking to become more of a sub-agent. Here you wouldn't sign the master agent agreement, you would work "under" someone who already has done that. Your commissions check as well as residuals, co-op and what not, would all go directly to that agent. You would just have some sort of arrangement with whoever that is. Most "sub-agents" in our area are around just to add chalks to a mid-level store or chain so that they can reach volume bonuses. They can pick and choose what produc...

That is exactly what I am looking to do. I have found an abundance of companies that I can work under in the west and midwest, but I have not found any Master Agents that can sign dealers in the northeast.

I'm sure you've done most of this, but if you ask the VZW account manager you've been in contact with, he should be able to tell you exactly which of his agents will be capable of bringing you on as a sub-agent. Or if you're the go-getter type, throw on your lucky undies and your best suit and go door to door and introduce yourself to all of the agents in your area until you find one that is willing to help you out.

The only thing Verizon tells Premium Retailers to carry is collateral. As far as where to place it, they just say if it needs to be customer facing or behind the counter. We can carry or not carry whatever phones and accessories we please. We can also price phones and equipment however we want. We are required to use approved cabinetry and displays from a particular vendor but there is variation there with what you can choose.
As a new agent I highly doubt he could come close to meeting the requirements to be a premium retailer. There are quite a few things that need to be met a large one is the number of stores you have, typically you can't have one store and be premium.

the wireless zone is a great franchise to work for. i work for them, and love it.

I've only ever seen Authorized or Premium retailers, never a Master Agent.
You'll probably have your hands tied in some aspects, but there's no for sure thing that you'll be able to keep Dish or Drive.
As an authorized retailers I know my company also sold Sprint (in one location), T-Mobile (in most locations) and Dish (before I started).
As a Premium retailer, we're solely selling VZW and INPulse so it's hard to say if you'll have your hands turd or not.
