dont blame your iphone, blame the carrier
"These Coverage Locator maps are not a guarantee of coverage and may contain areas with no service. These maps reflect a depiction of predicted and approximate wireless coverage of the Verizon Wireless Network and the network of other carriers. The coverage areas shown do not guarantee service availability, and may include locations with limited or no coverage. Even within a coverage area, there are many factors, including a customer's equipment, terrain, and proximity to buildings, foliage, and weather that may impact service. An all-digital device will not operate or be able to make 911 calls when digital service is not available. Some of the coverage area includes networks run by other carriers; some of the coverage depicted is based on t...

Naturally. Basically, the iPhone comes with a lot of hype as well as baggage. iPhone may have brought AT&T more unwanted bad publicity. The same could've been flipped to VZW if they chose to get the iPhone.
If you have such a premier product in your line up, the entire organization is going to be under the spotlight ready to be dissected, like Terrel Owens and whatever team he decides to poison.

Thats true.....
SO when a Toyota customer goes in for service he is unhapper than a Ford owner doing the same..
Its the same weh someone drops a call or cannot get a signal on Verizon......
Have to be careful what is hyped and what is real.

"Map may include areas served by unaffiliated carriers, and may depict their licensed area rather than an approximation of their coverage. Actual coverage area may differ substantially from map graphics, and coverage may be affected by such things as terrain, weather, foliage, buildings and other construction, signal strength, customer equipment and other factors. AT&T does not guarantee coverage. Charges will be based on the location of the site receiving and transmitting the call, not the location of the subscriber. Your phone's display does not indicate the rate you will be charged."

Don't blame the iphone, blame the carrier?
Is that why you get excellent reception with the other ATT 3G smartphones and 3G regular phones in the exact locations that the Iphone 3G is having 3G signal issues? That is obviously an Iphone 3G problem.

Couldn't agree more. I know ATT's network is not the greatest, but the bottom line is that ATT did not have anywhere near the complaints when it launched other data-centric 3g devices in these areas, such as the Blackjack and Tilt. I was in the NYC area less than two months ago and had good to excellent reception with my Tilt almost everywhere I went. I would love to see someone perform some actual testing of devices - road test a 3g iPhone compared to some of ATT's other 3g devices to see how they perform.... I bet the results would be quite interesting.
