New Blackberry Storm News!
Ok,
So its just images of the box. But some new detais have emerged. Mainly, the phone will be known as the storm and not the thunder. Although the thunder name might still be used out of the United States.
Also, the phone will include an 8GB Sd card, which I thought was pretty cool.
Projected release date is still early to mid October, but that is not official and prolly subject to change.

For sure. Im got some insiders at verizon, Im trying to get a sneak peek before it comes out, but they have really kept the wraps on this device.

I played with the iphone and the glyde and other pure touch screen devices and nothing beats having a full physical QWERTY keyboard. I'm intrigued at the storm but the virtual keyboard is worrying me too.

i think the storm is going to be an amazing device, but after reading more on the android platform, i think i will be leaning toward them. blackberries dont have an abundance of fun apps now, and i own the dare and there is almost nothing available for it. so imagine a touch-only blackberry. there are already a bunch of apps for andriod.

Android wont give you push email like a blackberry, plus Im sure it will have its issues. Take a look at all of the issues the 3g iphone is having. making a phone OS is not easy and it will prolly take several attempts to get it right.
Android should be great, but for now im still a BB fan.

You seem like me and try out alot of the verizon phones..I currently own the LG 8500 LG 8550 LG vx9400 the samsung alias the blackberry world edition and now the curve which is my favorite
i was curious what phones you own and if you ever take break from your curve and switch to one of your older phones (previously used)

I keep a bag of spare phones, some are more nastalgic (lg 6000 and lg 8000), some are for emergencies (BB 8703e), and some are still pretty new (BB 8830).
I don't switch phones really ever unless there is a true need. I got the curve the day it came out and have not switched from that device yet. I will prolly try out the storm, just because Im a phone nut, lol. Hopefully it will live up to the BB reputation in all aspects.

oh im def. a bb fan, and i was and am still very excited by the storm/thunder. i know the iphone has problems, heck my dare has problems. but i could settle with problems if there are a bunch of really great other stuff. i love my dare, but the lack of apps and fun features is killin me. and i dont really need push email. bb is the best in a lot of fields, and i would bet the storm will be no exception.
the storm will probably be out before the andriod phones, so ill try it first. i just think about how nice my xv6800 phone was, but windows in slow, so imagining the 6800 with android (if it was fast) seems like it would be amazing.
