VXZ EV-DO

Does any one know when the V-Cast service is going to be available in the northeast ohio area i just got a VX-8000 today and i want to utilize that service as soon as possible.

Wish I did pal, but I don't think anyone on here does. I'll keep it in mind, though and add a thread about it when I see the next release of cities...

There definately is a plan for roll-out of the network, because VzWs Business Support Center (BSC) and government support can give the information out. Not easily though. They can only give it if the caller and company have signed confidentiality statements on file, and in addition to that, it must be a government ageny, or a business account with 1000 + lines.

I think I would have waited to see when and if EV DO was going to be offered in my area before purchasing an 8000. That wait would have also provided you with a larger selection of EV DO handsets.

Well, I don't know about that. I know plenty of people who purchased the 8000 and aren't using it as EVDO - just cause they like the phone. Besides the EVDO will probably cover almost all of the network by 2006. Really, though, I would've gone with the UTStarcom 8940 mainly...

Well all i am going to say is Cleveland is a major market i know verizon is going to have EV-DO here and even if they dont i am still very happy with the 8000 in it self it is such an awsome phone in general. But they said 2nd or 3rd quarter for cleveland on v-cast
