INTERNATIONAL ROAMING QUESTION

Alright if I understand correctly Verizon uses Vodafone for international roaming and offers only 2 world phones.

So my question is say you’re going to Italy and you buy a prepaid SIM card from say this site
http://www.telestial.com/sim_bridge.php?ID=IT »
and you get the Vodafone one and stick it in one of Verizon’s ‘world’ phones will it work?
Or would you still get stuck with Verizon’s roaming charges?

Yes you can purchase a SIM card and insert it in a Global device. You have to go thru the Global Support team and they will unlock the phone to allow you to do so. It will require you faxing something to them, a paper pretty much stating that you agree to that other providers charges.

wrong.

You will have to use VZW roaming partners and their rates.

I read it a few months ago that they can unlock a global phone to be used. But I would say for the OP to call the Global Services Customer Support Specialist at (800) 711-8300 and see if they for sure can or cannot do that. Keep us updated please

Yes, the verizon global support team will unlock your phone for you if you request it. My coworkers and I travel often, so we're used to calling in to customer service and requesting the global department for the unlock.
