My suspicions have been confirmed...

I had the opportunity to closely inspect and use a UTStarcomm CDM8940 today at work, and I must say that my suspicions were confirmed. The phone's keys are very cheaply designed...they wiggle unecessarily, and don't have that satisfying "click". The flip mechanism doesn't even feel weighted, and is very light. And what is the volume button doing on the right side of the phone? I guess it's designed for lefties. The speakerphone is atrocious...you can't even hear the thing. I guess the only good thing I can say about the phone is that the color screen is excellent...crisp, clear, and big. Of the EV DO handsets already released, I'd say the LG is the one to go with...it may be significantly larger than the Samsung, but it's as well built, and the speakerphone is topnotch.

Maybe in your opinion, but I think it's pretty sweet for playing MP3s. 😉
