a few questions about Verizon Pearl
So...I had the Pearl (which i loved!) with Sprint (which I hated), and when I changed to VZW, I got the EnV2, thinking that would suffice for me, since all I did was text anyway...wrong! I missed the threaded sms. A lot. And the organizational tools of the BB. Anyway, I have a couple questions about the Verizon version before I take the plunge and pay $400 full retail for it, and increase my price plan about $30/mo...
1) I love that when you text from a VZW phone to another VZW phone, you can have text messages longer than 160 characters. Is this still true with the BB Pearl?
2) I also love that you get a message delivery receipt (the little check next to a sent message) to tell you if the other person has received it. Can the Pearl st...

2. On the delivery reciept- VZW is going to disable this very soon. I believe they are doing it area by area.

thats a blackberry thing, not a verizon thing. I dont think thats going anywhere, unless BB changes their OS.

cwcanty-what you're talking about is a BB thing...and it is just telling you that the message has been sent. With all other VZW phones, in the sent area, it acutally shows that the message has been delivered. So, that's a VZW thing. And if dalily21 is right, then it sucks that that's going away....
And yeah, with all other VZW phones, you can type as many letters as you want (i think it's called EMS)...and it kinda sucks that the Pearl and Curve don't allow this as well.

1. the blackberry is SMS capable, whereas the EnV2 is EMS capable. With the blackberry it is limited to 160 characters as that is the limitation of SMS, whereas EMS can do just over 1000 characters.
2. enjoy the delivery receipt while you can, it is being discontinued by Verizon in a phased rollout.
3. according to vzam.net/blackberry, the software download site for Verizon BlackBerries, the current version is 4.3
4. if you mean that once the memory is gone then you start losing txts, call log, email....etc. this is a feature of all BlackBerries. Get a memory card for your pix and manage your memory, should be ok.
5. Definitely uses MMS for sending pix. A little more difficult than with a standard cell phone, but that's life in ...

Awesome! Thanks for the help! One more Question...does anyone know how to DL an IM app, then? I hate having to do it online and keep refreshing to see if i have an IM...the yahoo messenger app on my EnV2 is one more thing I'll miss...I know, I'm greedy! Thanks! 😁

i actually have the bb pearl and yes it does mms messaging which was a feature i would die without! lol and i love the phone, its just too techy for me so im going back to my voyager for a while until vze realeases a 3.0 mp phone besides the flip shot preferrably in pink.
