What's the deal with the samsung i760? Are they offering it anymore? Was/is something wrong with it? What's the 411??

It's still around, but probably not for much longer with the i770 on the horizon.

The I760 is end of life, but that's not why it's gone at the moment. There was an issue with the last batch of I760's received. The data wouldn't connect to certain networks. The issue is being looked in to at this time. It will be back.

FYI the 5800 and 6800 are also end of life. I think all these phones have shipments remaining but they are getting close in the next several months.

I just ordered the 5800. I got a great deal on it. Are there any updates that I need to know about? I preferred the i760 but the customer service rep informed me of the bad news, so I went with the 5800. Similar form, just smaller.

I'm not real familiar with the 5800. I'm pretty sure it's not a touchscreen though. It also doesn't have wifi.

I'm not as concerned about wifi. I just liked the regular keypad on the outside and the slide out keyboard when I need it. I had preferred the i760 because it's bigger than the 5800. The numeric keypad on the outside and the sliding keyboard was what I was referring to when I said the form factor. Is receiving email/having email pushed to the device simple to do?

the i760 and 5800 are not on the same level. The i760 uses WinMobile Pro with touch screen. The 5800 is WinMobile Standard. Its basically like a Moto Q phone with a slide out keyboard. In my opinion the i760 is far more superior to the 5800. Not only is it more capable with the Pro version of the OS, but it vocie quality is more superior as well. Except for the location of the Send and End buttons, this is the best designed Win Mobile phone on the Verizon network EVER!

Well, I would have liked to get one but I guess because of the connection issues I'm not able to get one.
