I wanted to know what everyone thinks about the different places you can buy Verizon. The main ones being the Verizon Store and Radio Shack. I know for a fact that Radio Shack is cheaper.

I would bet the verizon store myself, and I don't work at either place. I have found that when you buy from an authorized dealer, it is harder to get things done, such as returns, and tech help. I have gone thru an authorized agent, and verizon direct, and I have had better response when I went thru verizon. If you have a problem with equipment in the future, verizon will tell you to take the phone back to the agent you got it from, but, when you get it thru verizon, they will help you out over the phone, and send you a replacement.

So it depends on what you want to do, both get the same job done, but going thru an agent might be more work then it would save you if you have problems. We all know that verizon direct can do a little m...

True, but keep in mind that re-sellers and indirect store tend to sell older phone models.

Also keep in mind that when you go into a VZW store, first thing you should ask is if it's a "corporate" store because you cannot return indirect products at corporate VZW stores, nor will we honor the warranty on indirect accessories.

I know I'm replying to my own entry, but I wanted to see why people shop where. I work at Radio Shack (an authorized dealer) and I can honestly say there are a good many people that would prefer to shop there than the Verizon store. Our phones are usually about $25-$80 cheaper. They are all NEW out of the box (not refubished.) I know a lot of people are hesitant about getting a phone through somewhere other than the official store, but Radio Shack isn't one of those Kiosks (however you spell it.

There are a couple very good reasons to get your phone at Radio Shack instead of the Verizon store (which i am most def. not busting on):
1) we are less expensive
2) we offer you everything Verizon store does, plus, what we have (insurance,...

I worked at RadioShack and after working there and seeing all the problems and poor quality of items I'll never buy anything there, let alone a phone. I remember when my parents bought a brand new TV there and took it home and it wouldnt even turn on.?.? 😲 😳 ☹️

Hmm.. You ask a question, and then you answer it yourself. It sounds like your advertising for RadioShack or something.

Just don't send your customers to our stores for warranty or insurance issues.

Also, what I mean by Radio Shack selling older phones is this- they aren't refurbished, but they are older models that Verizon Corporate stores don't sell anymore. 90% of the time, the phones in one of our stores have just been launched, and are not more expensive then what you'd sell them for.

the main reason i'd never buy from a radio shack store is that they're given spiffs and commissions for adding features onto accts like pix and txt messaging packages. i take at least one call a day from a customer wantign to know why she's been paying for picture messaging or mobile web for the last three months. a lot of indirect reps will flat out tell you that vzw will issue credits for things vzw typically doesn't credit, just to make a sale.

a lot of indirect reps are good, and i've found radio shack reps are probably teh best indirects, but there's a LOT of bad apples out there. at least if something gets messed up when purchasing through vzw, you have a paper trail to fall back on.

Well one of the things I noticed is that to get an activation they will sell whatever is the lowest deposite by prejudging. Or base the sale off whichever they are promoting that week on tv. Hey jon what we selling today verizon or sprint.. Well I think sprint is advertised this week... plus its a sure thing with the 125 deposite thing.

Also they are not paid by one company to sell their service. It would be like going into best buy and asking a media employee about computer things... they will know basic stuff but the things that matter should be discussed with the people that work in that dept.
