Help Selecting New Verizon Phone - Basic User

I'm an old fashioned kind of guy who uses his cell phone just to make calls. 🙂

Looking for help finding the best verizon phone to give me great battery life and best possible reception in remote areas.

Secondary considerations:
I would like a color external screen that does photo caller id. Reliable voice dialing would also be nice. Bluetooth would also be nice.

Things I do NOT need (but don't care if they are on the phone or not)
MP3 or Camera

The phone can be a flip phone, slide-out, stick phone or whatever format. Would prefer something a little more durable as I often the leave the phone in my pocket while working on projects and the phone will take a little bit of a beating.

All VZW phones have internal antennas now. This means little phone = little antenna, and conversely BIG PHONE = BIG ANTENNA = BETTER RECEPTION in marginal areas.

You'll get better marginal reception with a LARGE phone, this basically limits you to the enV2 or the Voyager. enV2 will not show pic ID's on the outside screen, which is one feature you mentioned you DO want to have. I personally have owned the Voyager for about a month now and I am extremely happy with it, if you don't mind the learning curve of using a touch-screen device.

If these phones won't work for you, try the Motorola Adventure. It's the next best thing out there.

tough call, because so many of the "basic" phones carry a lot of features.

Im guessing you dont text much, if it all, so something with a keyboard would prolly be a waste.

One of the better phones out right now is prolly the moto adventure, or maybe the LG 8350. Motorola also has several mid range phones coming out by Oct 14. If you can afford to wait a week, I would check out whats in stores after that date.

I do think that LGs and Motos both function pretty well with verizon in terms of catching a signal and overall voice quality--I would prolly stick to those brands.

The Moto Adventure or W755 are good, basic phones and despite the Moto bashing you'll sometimes find here, Motos consistently have better reception and RF for me than LGs or Samsungs. The Adventure is military spec but not waterproof I believe.
