Verizon Purchases MCI

So Verizon purchased MCI, I wonder what they plan on doing with current MCI customers?

My guess is, nothing. What would they have to do with long distance customers? They're fine the way they are, they'll just be referred to as Verizon customers instead of MCI customers.

I'm thinking this... Verizon has the following:

Home Phone

DSL

Long Distance

Wireless

I sense a disturbance in the force... I'm thinking future monopoly?

(I.E.: Microsoft bundled their I.E. explorer, Windows, Excel, Word, etc. into one package, and was split due to this. )

Verizon might have to split off one of their services to a separate company. Just curious if that might occur with their new purchase of MCI.

Remeber, Verizon shares Verizon Wireless with Vodaphone... that may keep them from violating monopoly laws 😎

P.S.: Verizon also makes phones. (little known fact, there's only a couple though.) 😉

Verizon Wireless Z800 was the model type, gray flip phone, looked like a kid's toy. They also make PC cards.
