I worked for Verizon a while ago, and I'm now with a different carrier. I haven't been keeping up on this phone, but I want some information. I'm sure these questions have already been answered somewhere so bear with me.
What is the browser on the Storm like? Is it the typcial Blackberry browser, or has the browser been upgraded to a full HTML browser? I suppose it wouldn't be that big of a deal because you could always download something like Opera MIni into the phone anyway, but what is the browser that's pre-loaded into the phone? Actually, that brings up another question which probably can't be answered yet. Will the phone support third party applications like Opera Mini? As far as I know, Opera Mini requires a keyboard to func...

i havent used the device, but i am sure it will have many of the aspects you mentioned. i would expect a full html browser due to the fact that optimized web is designed for small handset screens. to utilize the touch navigation, it will need a full html browser
the predicesors(sp) to the storm are capable of handling many third party apps. many have a price tag attached, but i would expect it to be able to utilize google apps, firefox once it launches, espn, gmail apps, yahoo apps, etc.
there is a good chance the storm will launch with the 29.99 data feature, but with some new launches, it did not come with them. with something as highly anticipated as this, it wouldnt make sense on a business standpoint to wait on this feature.

the web browser is full html (similar, but not quite as nice as the iphone). And im sure opera mini will be available shortly after the launch.
And the data will be $30 as far as I know.

What makes the browser less nice than the browser on the iPhone?
...
I read it was a little choppy, but that was from earlier, pre release versions. The final build of the OS and browser, should be pretty fluid.
Did you read the phonescoop article on the homepage? It had some great information in it.
...
People actually read the articles on this site?
Seriously though, thanks for the information.
...
yeah I read blogs to get info, phonescoop is always a little bit late.
But their review of the storm was solid.
...
i think the video makes it look not that cool?
what you think?
...
I think it looks pretty solid. It was a little laggy, but Iam confident that they will have that fixed when the phone is released.
...
The software looks slow. I wonder if that's how the final version is going to be.
...
I wouldnt worry about the speed, im sure it will be fine. Im getting the phone day one, so I will be sure to get a review up within 3 days of using it.
...
Nice. I'm not really a fan of the concept of a touch screen Blackberry, but it's always nice to know what the competition is up to and how well they're doing it. I look forward to the review.
...
yeah I feel ya. Im a little nervous myself, but as a die hard BB fan, I just dont think I can wait on this one. I'll be sure to keep the 'scoop community updated when I gets a hands on with the device
