annoyed at the people who come into complain about DSL, their landline long distance, etc. You tell them that you are a Verizon Wireless store and that you can't help them (but offer to point them in the right direction) and they still feel the need to complain about their landline to you?

I get at least 10 a day. It's only really annoying on Mondays when I'm lucky to have 20 customers.

I have a friend who still works in a local corporate store (I'm not in-store anymore myself), who tells me they get a lot of people coming in to get Verizon Communication's sub-$20 DSL system because they saw it on TV, even though we don't have Verizon Communications in this area.

They just don't understand how Verizon the landline company can advertise in the local market and not supply that service. They don't understand what national advertising is.

Plus, it's odd to me that the same people looking for the cheap DSL program are willing to sign a 2-year contract with Verizon Comm, but balk at the fact that they sign up for a 2-year contract for wireless. Sure, the cost is different, but usually the same person would freak out over ...

Working in VZW CS they love to go off on us about their issues with landline. I mean our opening is "Thank you for calling VERIZON WIRELESS..." come on now.

But I really don't like the ones that when they're mad about something they like to throw in there that they have all the Landline services.

We get that too. They wait until checkout and then say something like "I have verizon for my DSL, my home phone, and I have directTV (we have Dish in store) and I have a card, which I forgot at home, but it says that I get a 15% discount on my phone, and all my ACC for free."

I guess people assume I don't know anything about my own company?

I used to work in a store in the mountain west. The thing I'd hear people complain about the most was how sucky the signal was in their town. Despite this, the customer fully understood that Verizon was the only major wireless company offering service in their area. The other major companies didn't even bother.

Verizon has love for these customers, or at least saw a need to serve their area. Other companies don't find it worth their time, energy, and overhead. And the customer is pissed at Verizon because they don't get a signal every place they want it to work? Live in a major town next time you want to have much more comprehensive wireless coverage.
