Variety is the spice of life... that and lost passwords, new comps, relocations... oldtimers disease, yanno, the usual excuses...lol
muchdrama said:Oh my. How embarrassing. You'll have to forgive this badly written and thought out post, as a "friend" of mine couldn't resist the temptation of posting something while I had my back turned for two minutes. Sigh. Children...this will teach you to NEVER turn your back on phonescoop while logged on.
You know what, I have been using this site for years, and I finally realised, this **** is a big waste of time. Lets really admit it guys, we have no lives, we havent been layed in years, and we use this site to occupy
P.S. It's amazing what a wrist guard (you know...that thing that keeps you from getting carpal tunnel syndrome) can do to the human body. When you're angry, try using one to beat yo...

If you are refering to # of customers then yes, but why is it that they only way cingular could surpass verizon in customer base is to buy out another company? According to any major magazine you read (JD Power, Money, Cons Repts... etc. etc.) Verizon is the top (or at least always above Cingular) in network coverage, call quality, customer satisfaction, etc. etc. Being the biggest doesnt mean your the best, it just means your the biggest.
Verizon does well in surveys and Cingular does well in tests.... I'll take the test over a survey any day.
For 2 years now, you guys have said Verizon was the best because of it's size, now Cingular is the biggest and you come up with other reasons ...

VZW is finally realizing that their analog roaming has to go, and is phasing it out. Only a couple of choices for phones that even USE analog anymore. Digital for digital, VZW loses the fight.
Prove THAT wrong.

Didn't JD Edwards and Money and Consumer Reports?
No. They proved that a small number of polled wireless subscribers in a few cities said that they liked Verizon better. Actual drive tests show different results.
To prove something requires more than an unscientific survey.
And none of the magazines said that Verizon had more digital coverage than Cingular. They can't say that. It's not true.

But why then in surveys of actual users does Cingy do so bad so consistently, well not bad, but ummm sub-par is the better work. And its not like its one survey... I've seen it on a couple of articles. How does the old saying go... "you can piss on my head once and tell me its raining..."
Tests or surveys I go with actual usuage.
Tests can be manipulated.
Then you claim actual usage is more important. Seems you need an unbrella.
YOur implication is tests can be manipulated (if they are Cingular favorable) is incredible. Nothing canbe manipulated more than random surveys,

Cingular doesn't really do bad, they just don't score as high as Verizon in the surveys.
You have to understand that these surveys can be very misleading. Take the Consumer reports survey- Consumer reports magazine is also a publication of the consumer's union. The consumer's union was offically against the cingula...

Don't forget good old human error.
I'd say that surveys are more easily manipulated however.

Yeah, how many of those customers chose the wrong carrier because they couldn't remember? 🤣
I get at least one or two people a month waltz right up to me and ask me why their sprint phone isn't working. 😳
Here's your sign. 🤣
PhoenixAshes said:That's hilarious...I get the same thing at the Circuit City I'm operations manager at. "What do you mean your CSA won't return my CompUSA merchandise?". "Uh, I won't return it 'cause this isn't CompUSA". "Oh.".muchdrama said:Don't forget good old human error.

These speeds, when they do come out are gonna be fab and because of competition, its not gonna matter who the prov is.

14.4 mbps would rock... go completely wireless at that point.
Did you know that Lucent's version is promising up to 20mbps? That's who Cingular is using. I can't wait.

And only Shatner could have pulled it off.
I like Picard but Kirk would have given him the patented Kirk-Kick and whooped him.
Coverage is equal where I live, work, and travel. The biggest plus since I moved to Cingular has been the 7pm nights option. The 9.99 add-on's and the rollover don't hurt either.
I never would have left Verizon if they had a phone I liked. I tried two new-in-box phones which were both defective. At that point I tried the competition and haven't been disappointed. Funny thing is, when I got my two new Cingular phones, one was also defective, but the one that did work did so well that I decided to keep the service. Of co...
