BBerry Storm - Internal GPS?
Does anyone know if the Storm has internal GPS that is open for 3rd party apps to use? Or does VZW cripple it?
Reason I ask is cause after browsing through the BB Storm User Manual(http://crackberry.com/blackberry-storm -9530-user-manual-emerges#comment-30064), I see on page 169 it says the following which leads me to believe that it is there in the device but the carrier (ala Verizon) may not support it:
"If your device does not have an internal GPS receiver or your wireless service provider does not support location-based services and you
want to use GPS technology, you can pair your BlackBerry device with a Bluetooth® enabled GPS receiver. For more information, contact
your wireless service provider."

VZW doesn't cripple it. It is suppose to have internal GPS. Aren't you the same guy who was crying about the plan prices are too high and vzw needs to lower them? And you are interested in the storm????

Just because I think VZW should bundle their services into more competetive pricing plans, doesn't mean I can't research different phones that I may one day want? Haven't you ever desired something that you maybe cant afford? A car, a vacation, a hotter wife/girlfriend? Im sure you answered yes to all 3. As for me, I have all 3 and can afford it. But just cause I can afford it, doesn't mean I can't desire for things like Verizon service to be priced with the market conditions rather than them act like a socialist party and charge whatever they want cause they are the best. I agree they are the best and we should pay a premium for better service. But there is a line where it becomes disproportionate to the other available services out there. ...

The storm will have access to VZNav as well as the internal GPS to use BB Maps etc.
As for pricing, VZW is a business not a non-profit outfit! I for on will pay for th quality service I get from Verizon. If you want cheap, then you have Sprint.

the storm's gps is NOT crippled and will work with the blackberry maps application unlike on previous blackberrys. I dont know about other applications but I would assume it works there too.
