How can anyone argue this point when it hasn't been challenged legally by other carriers???
Verizon Wireless owns and operates the nation's most reliable wireless network, serving 43.8 million voice and data customers.
When Verizon is legally forced to stop advertising that they have the most reliable network then all of you Cingular Fanboy's can talk trash, until then you have no ground to stand on.

😲 without alltel, vzw would be punked!
Cingular has good coverage, and great phones

What's begun? The rapid demise of Verizon? Your inane ramblings? Shut up for God's sake.
...
All were predicting the huge port ins by VErizon due to Cingulars purchase of a "terrible" ATT.
Well the only prediction that came about was mine. Cingular would be adding more customers than Verizon after the merger......and looks like I was right...the stupid idiot that I am...
...
You CAN'T take Cingulars 4Q results serious, please...
...
and why not? Pro forma results are pro forma results... kinda shocking ain't it?
...
I absolutely take them seriously...as well as the 1st QTR results this year.....watch and learn....or weep.
...
ALL the carriers, except maybe Nextel have agreements or purchase network capacity from somebody else. So what's the point of saying who will be "punked" AWS got a lot of capacity from Dobson in a lot of areas... 🙄
...
Without Alltel?? Hmm... I think its the other way around...
...
Nope, Cingular would be screwed without the spectrum they inherited from the Merger. Alltel counts for a small portion of the VZW coverage area and they always have Sprint PCS to back up other areas. Without the merger Cingular would have had no future with 3G networking.
...
That's not true... Come on and think what you are saying... Verizon Wireless was formed by the merger of Bell Atlantic Mobile, Vodafone/Airtouch Cellular, GTE Wireless and PrimeCo*** The merger to make Verizon was huge, and that is one of the prime factors that went into the company being as large as it is now. So how can you rip on Cingular which was a merger of only two companies (orginally, now three) for doing the same thing?
...
I'm only stating they would be screwed without ATT and ATT was getting to be pretty bad. The Merger machine will contiinue until there is Sprintel, Cingular, Verizon and T-Bag Mobile. Sooner or later all small companies will be bought out and we the customers will benefit from better coverage and higher dollar amounts being spent on Networks. The FCC screwed this all up by allowing Hillrods in rural America the right to buy licenses and build lil ole crappy networks.
...
Yeah, on one side but on the other side, Podunk VT would be the last thing on your mind, but the first thing for locals... Most large companies don't look at the "lowly populated" areas, because they would rather not spend the money just so that a town with 15 people can have service, it costs them too much
...
Coverage is coverage and eventually they will all be gone. We have Illinois Valley Cellular where I Pheasant and Duck hunt and it is a crap network that wouldn't be anything if VZW didn't put pressure on them to step it up with their coverage. Luckily we get 4-5 bars at the farm there but the sad thing is that these little networks are small and lacking. Look at Europe, 4-5 carriers and coverage is usually great all over then here where we are still way behind in blanket coverage.
...
True... I know the coverage over there is soooo much better. But they started on better technologies from the start and they use their cell phones for everything... Not that we don't now, but think about how much cell phone usage and cell phones in general have changed in the past 10 years. Crazy, huh? 😳

Not a completely fair comparison. Western Europe doesn't have many huge sparsely-populated areas, whereas the US does. Geography has contributed mightily to Europe having the kind of coverage it does.
...
Please, Europe has the same if not more extreme geography than here. They just don't have a desert. Check out places like France where all there is is Paris and the rest of the country is open space. Or check out Switzerland with the mountain ranges. Not a good excuse. The Europeans stopped fighting each other and came together for cellular technology and that is why it is much better.
...
Population density of Europe is a lot higher than America, somewhere around double. Read it in ann atlas somewhere.
Also, where the frick do you get the idea that France is all open space except for Paris? Ever hear of Lyon, Orleans, Nice, Bordeaux? If youre ever in France, dont even bother with Paris- theres lots nicer (and cheaper) places to see, where the people are much friendlier.
...
Speaking of Paris ever heard the history of their crypts? Very interesting but kinda on macabre side

No I didnt hear anything about that when I was over there. Whats up with their crypts?
...
Wow I went off track a little on the last one.... What I was trying to say is by those small little "nothing" companies having the service there and not VzW or Cingular or whomever, it allowed other people to build it up and make money, then with the larger company buying it it probably saved them the money in the long run by not having put all the money in the network, and just buying it which is probably cheaper for them in the long run
...
Actually it really doesn't matter in the end. Verizon is the size that it is and its customers can make calls.
Cingular is the size it is and their customers can make calls.
Bragging rights are great for anyone to be number one at something.
I think Jack Rooney, USCC's CEO put it best when he said that it didn't matter if they were biggest or not as long as they were the best choice in the markets they serve.
...
That was very well stated... And I agree.
...
W00t! Sir, I bow to you. Awesome post! 😁
...
sorry.. with out Verizon ALLTEL would be 'PUNKED'.. hello.. how do you think they stay in business?? with their customer base??.... no with their roaming agreements with Verizon.
...
Verizon has over 43 million customers that use Alltel's network as well which contributes to huge revenue for Alltel when we use their network where VZW doesn't have service. Without the roaming revenue Alltel would still have over 50% of their network using analog only service with bag phones. I can't wait until Verizon buys Alltel and puts money into the network, their rural coverage is pretty weak when trying to get digital coverage.

Well, here's how.
They can advertise all day long that they have the most reliable network.
How do they do it an not get sued?
Here's why.
They have a big disclaimer. Have you ever seen the commercials?
"Verizon Wireless owns and operates the nation's most reliable wireless network, serving 43.8 million voice and data customers."
Then, some microfine print shows up at the bottom of the screen that says...
" *Reliability is based on network tests that have consistently shown that the number of ineffective attempts for the Verizon Wireless national network, and in major metropolitan center...

When will Cingular advertise that they have the most reliable network? Truest sound, what the heck are you talking about we all know that CDMA voice quality is better than TDMA and GSM. Best Value in Wireless, how are they basing value??? When Verizon is forced to change the most reliable network in their advertising then you can talk. Heck, if Cingular is ever more reliable than Verizon I'll port my numbers over in a heartbeat but until then I'll stay on the nations most reliable network.

They can advertise truest sound based on drive tests in 49 cities. They are basing value on the fact that they offer the most for the money.
And as I said in the previous post, Verizon will never h...

You looking at 15 or 30 year loan?? I would make sure you are in the high 600's but would fare better if over 700. I would actually say go for an interest only on a 10 year that way you could afford a nicer cardboard box. You are welcome to let me know and I promise not to charge any agrivation points out back on the loan!!! Better go check your credit score to see !!! By the way isn't this a cellular forum anyway?? Go call DiTech, I have enough loans in the pipeline and would rather talk Cellular.

LOL... what is this weird thing you have with not believing that ppl work in the profession they say they do? Seems like you're grilling him, not sincerely asking for real estate advice.
Criminey, its not like he said he was a fighter pilot or movie star after all, lol. 😁
In that spirit, I've decided that you don't really work for Cingular. No, you're quite obviously a field tester for nuclear hand-grenades, my friend. 😉

I'm not in the Mortgage industry but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. haha. I do however have a brother in Network Engineering so I stay on top of what is going on and I also check out Wirelessweek and RCRnews online and the mags my brother drops off. Phoenix gets mad when someone knows more than he does and I have been using a cell phone since he was in diapers. That would be since I was 16 and I am 33 so if I do the math correctly and he is the 18-20 year old college cellphone salesman then he would have been in diapers.

Hahaha you are still playing that game aren't you, haha. What I find funny is how people in this forum aren't ver in the Cingular forum ripping them yet the Cingular forum is filled with unhappy posts. People like you from the Blue side not getting paid correctly, why is Cingular so greedy, It's been a while but still blows, etc. Here is the top post from the Forum over there as of this morning.
As a consumer, I think the company could do better. Please explain to me the marketing strategy behind hiking up the rate plans. Or how about the marketing strategy for ATTWS customers by saying that they get great deals when migrating, but when they attempt to do so, it just costs the customer tons. Or how about the craptacular features you c...

Phoenix says he is thirty one and still in college, sounds like his mommy wouldn't let him grow up or something. he might be ready to buy a house when he gets his bachelors in basket weaving at 38!!Hopefully he will score down where he will end up paying in the 7-8% range, he only deserves the best 😈

Just to verify I am not sticking up for Verizon in any means just stating a point.
That said. Its not like other carriers don't do the exact same thing in their commercials as a care rep we have to deal with that kind of misinformation everyday! 🙄
Cust: " But your commercials said i have m2m!"
good grief 🙄

I think you all argue more about who is better then the CEOs of both companys. Its like people fighting over whos pro team is better, what the hell are any of you gaining by arguing which company is better?
...
Yeah I agree I work for vzw and am proud to say so. I am proud to say I have been a customer for over 8 years. However I don't see any point in bashing the competitors. I think that degrades you as a sales rep. Almost showing insecurity. I like to see it as you don't even have to degrade the competition because your product should stand on its own. Unless it's just a terrible option like a customer saying screw you guys im going to cricket... But I find alot on here that people seem to think them posting about why a company is better than the other one will get something accomplished. If I worked at burger king I would know that it's not that my product was that much better it's just that people have different tastes and no matter what I did...
