Secret Storm "release" Envelope

DoubleHelix

Nov 6, 2008, 5:36 PM
I have heard the "secret envelope" will be opened Sunday evening to the employees.

I also hear that the managers have seen the contents of this envelope today.

Who's going to be the first to leak the contents to us?

Come on, what's the worst that can happen?

Don't get me wrong i hope everyone who buys it likes it, but owing Blackberry now has become a fashion statement!...but true BB business users are going to hate not having the physical key board.

I wouldnt be so sure that they will hate it. That surepress technology is pretty cool and very functional.

And there are a lot of people who use iphones for work and get by just fine. And in my opinion, this phone surpassess the iphone in whole host of ways.

We shall see it would be cool if we could see some actual data on the outcome of this...forget everyone that buys it because they think it's the next best thing to an iphone ( which it ain't) but just business users who need to slam out hundreds of emails/texts a week. i don't think they will like it..but that's just my opinion...and the ui is cool and i agree blows the iphone away in so many obvious categories, but the fruit phone will still be king of the touch screens.

From what I am reading, you are implying is that you have personally used the phone and think the touchscreen is sub par? Let me tell you I have used apple touch devices and you will not find much of a difference in experience, unless of course you like to accidentally type while you run your finger across the screen like the fruit phone. I have used the phone and the touchscreen is functional, user friendly and is going to set the standard for touch feedback when typing, unlike the cheap attempt by lg to give vibration feedback.

I really think you will be surprised. The keyboard is going to be just as functional as any other one, you can't type 100 words a minute on a curve, I don't think it's going to slow you down much at all on the blackberry storm.

Also if there is someone using a mobile device that often to send emails I would assume they are at a place where they are sitting **not driving** and can buy a bluetooth keyboard. Especially with the storm this will be a freaking fantastic accessory to have with that big ass screen.

I think it will have a learning curve, but most phones you can't type SUPER fast anyways, just fast for a phone standard, so I wouldn't imagine losing a few words a minute outweighing the pros.

Also think of how much easier it ...

while i agree there is a lot of hype (every website i visit says 'first touch blackberry') i dont think its a blackberry but worse. over on bgr they hacked an iphone to use a wired keyboard. why would they need to do that? because the iphone out-of-the-box cant. however the storm will be able to use a bluetooth keyboard out-of-the-box.

lets see. best camera, biggest screen, records videos, and full size qwerty support out-of-the-box. how is it a blackberry but worse?
