Details of Data Usage on Bill
For those of you that have the $45 data plan attached to your PDA/Smartphone/Bberry,....
when you look online at your billing, what does it say for your data plan description under data usage. Mine shows "Unlimited" but I thought Verizon placed a 5gig cap a short while back? I have had my plan for a few years now, so maybe Im grandfathered in. Just curious.
Here is what mine shows for my Data Usage Allowance:
Kilobyte Usage: kilobytes unlimited 100,698
So if its truly unlimited for me, does that mean I can go above 5gigs?

It is umlimited use on your phone. The 5gb limit is for tethering. If you use your phone to tether with your laptop, then there will be a 5gb limit.

Also for pc cards or modems

Hmmm, So then if I use Internet Connection Sharing and WMWifiRouter application on my windows mobile phone to act as an access point for my laptop, I can technically get unlimited data for my laptop. They would have no idea I am tethering via Wifi.

They could still most likely see the usage. If they start seeing 1-2gb "packets" being downloaded at a time it wouldn't be that hard to see that you are connecting something other than your phone to the internet, in which case they can throttle your connection speed.

there is no cap on the feature for pda's/smart phones, there is however a 5gig cap if you are going to tether and use as a modem, which would add $15 onto your existing plan, But using it strictly on the phone is unlimited
