Until recently, a good number of the Alltel phones were the same models found on Verizon. Lately, I've noticed a lot more unique or exclusive models on that network.

You can take the Alltel phone to a direct (corporate) retail store (the ones that usually have technicians), they will inspect the phone to make sure it is in working order. Then they will send it to the warehouse to have it further inspect to see if it is safe to put on the network and send the phone back to you, with an approval or denial letter. Then if it is approved you will have to take it back to the direct store to have it activated. This process usually takes 2-4 weeks.
