Canadian citizen signing up for verizon? How do you process this?

I just had a customer come in who is a truck driver from canada. He wanted to do the nationwide+canada plan (he has a friend who has it) but when I called up activations, they said the only way they can process this is if they have an American address of some form.

Does anyone have any more information on this? This store is a good 8 hours from the border, so this is the first time I've heard of this. Anyone a little closer to the border know the specifics of this?

From what I could understand, he did about 70% of his traveling in the US, which is why he wanted a verizon plan instead of a canadian company that offers US roaming.

The Sales Rep should ask the customer for the following information:

The Social Insurance number
The Canadian address

The Sales Rep should call the Credit department to request that a Canadian credit check be performed.

If the customer decides to complete activation once the Sales Rep relays the credit decision and th...

Customers who wish to have a Canadian credit check performed, must meet the following criteria:

Have a US residence, including street address. No Post Office Boxes will be accepted.
Provide their Canadian Social Insurance number
Provide their Canadian photo ID.
Provide Canadian address

Note: It is the responsibility of the Sales rep to verify the identification (See Canadian Credit Applications: How to Process for Sales Reps). Sales does not have to fax the ID into the Credit Review department.

Have the Canadian truck driver go to a U.S. Post office to set up a P.O. Box, that way he will have a U.S. address and then Verizon can set him up with service, since he spends 70% of his time in the U.S. anyways.

How does this sound?
