Mobile TV and SMS Block

Does anyone here happen to know why you can't have an SMS block on a line that happens to have Mobile TV? This has really been bugging me, as I've noticed that you need to have messaging unblocked for some reason, yet I've never been able to find any explanation as to why. How is messaging related to Mobile TV?

I'm only guessing, but it might use SMS for something. I know chaperone sends an encoded SMS message (won't show up in your inbox unless your phone's software is pre-chaperone), so Mobile TV might do the same?

You are correct. Mobile TV uses administrative messages to keep the subscription active and between the phone and the mediaflo network.

Also for any alerts that you set up, and possibly for the guide as well.
