Wow. My old trusty crust VX8300 just officially died Thursday, and this might change things for me. I had sent back the first Boulder quite angrily -- what a piece of ... -- but if there are vast improvement I'll reconsider.

What about battery life? Any word on upgrading that?

Hey chappie.

i don't know if you have kept on the howardforum thread but even the old boulder with the updates improved the battery life to an acceptable level...but here is the Good thing, the boulder ships now with a reg battery and the Extended battery...so battery issue no more. The call quality and speaker volume is suppose to be OUTSTANDING now. ill get my on tuesday. ill let you know.

Unfortunately all our questions will remain unanswered until people actually get the phone and use it and compare it to the current Boulder.I wonder about the software, will it be the same?
And it's odd Casio & Hitachi would revamp the Boulder when the Exilim is coming out.

But never the less a new Boulder would seem to exist as some have ordered it and the VZW rep I spoke with said I'd have to call CS to get it as well.
Plus there's one for sale on E-bay for like $300.
So how much dose it cost with contract?

It comes with version 10 installed. The guy i talked to said it's outstanding! I'm taking his word for it...but i will test it myself but very confident the problems are resolved.

Even the old boulder with the 09 was drastically improved. with the look of that speaker there is no doubt it will rock. It was reworked for PTT and call clarity.

G'zOne fans are rejoicing!

Gunny, I eagerly look forward to your review. You'll recall I was really peeved with the old one.

If this turns out to be a great phone (and I trust your review based on what I've read before from you), can you tell me exactly what to ask for to get it?

I may have found my new replacement phone ... even after all the griping I did over the original Boulder!

Oh yeah I remember how pissed you were, and I was right there with you. The phone was a disaster.

I should have my phone by Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest. I will share then on call clarity, and speaker phone volume/ clarity. I think we both already like the phone, we just need to function as a phone!

And yes I can tell you what the model # is so you can order one. I think you and I will soon be happy owning a worthwhile phone. Fingers crossed.
