Anyone know what the newest word is on Verizon's bid for MCI?

That was Worldcom. Yes Worldcom was a seperate entity.

*scratches head* Ok..But i'm pretty sure i heard a big bad thing going around MCI..Musta been Worldcom. My mistake.

They were partners... you probably remember hear the phrase MCI Worldcom.

I don't know the exact nature of they partnership, just that MCI managed to stay afloat after the grand jury and the indictments.

Just for the record, Worldcom acquired MCI and was planning to remove the name MCI. But, after the big accounting disgrace, they decided to delete the name Worldcomm. MCI Worldcom (one entity) was in bankruptcy, but has emerged with the name MCI.
The merger with Verizon seems to be on track, but subject to regulatory approval, which could take till end of year. They shouldn't have any trouble getting approval if SBC's merger with AT&T is approved.

I'm sorry, but you are wrong. It is not still on track perfectly. Quest has submitted multiple bids that far exceed the bid that verizon submitted for MCI. The Verizon bid has been approved by MCI's board, but it is not over yet.

Hmm... Qwest 🤣 This all falls under one phrase: "If you can't piss with the big dogs, stay on the porch." Qwest may swing a bigger money bag at MCI, but that hand holding it is weak...

I don't know why this matters, considering Verizon Comm is a completely seperate company from Verizon Wireless, BUT, According to stock holder's interest in Qwest, it was said that outbidding Verizon is not in the best financial interest for the future of the company.
