Talked to both Verizon and Cingular reps today

This is NOT a bash on either company! I looked at both today and decided to stick with Verizon. Cingular had some nice features such as the roll-over minutes and Bluetooth but I stopped and looked at what I wanted to pay a month and what gave me more options. My budget is 75.00 a month for both air and data useage.

Cingular had 900 Minutes for 59.99 but I was confused about having to pay 24.99 a month for Unlimited web browsing. I do use that feature a lot and that was one of my main complaints with Verizon using my airtime minutes.

Verizon also had 900 Minutes for 59.99 but 15.00 more gave me unlimited web-browsing, a faster net-work connection (in my area) and v-Cast. The other thing was the in-network calling (most of my friends and family have either Verizon or Sprint).

I do have to be fair and say that both reps I talked to were friendly and courteous and neither one of them wound up bashing the other's company.

finally!! someone who is nice about both companies! it seems like people on here just bash verizon or bash cingular. i mean arent these forums supposed to be supportive to what the companies are doing? i just feel like, if you have cingular, you read the cingular forums, if you have verizon, you read the verizon forums. thats just my own opinion. but it just seems like its republicans vs democrats in here...or dogs vs cats...you get my point. i just hate reading so much negativity in here. good job BK!

Maybe it's because I'm a novice, but I am a little confused about the plan that you have with Verizon. I understand the phone minutes part, but waht about the web browser for only $15 per month. I was under the impression that the minimum plan they have for that is $35 per month. Would it only be $15 per month for browser on Treo 600?

Thanks for the advice.

He is talking about Mobile Web. The new Vcast Package is $15 a month for Vcast service, mobile web, and unlimited get it now airtime. This is simply the Mobile Web feature on a handset, not the actual web browser with internet.
