Whats with the shortage of phones with slide out keyboards? seems like its mainly flip phone and touch screen (voyager and enV2) any ideas on why no lg rumor, lg scoop type phones?

I'm considering an HTC SMT5800 just because of the way it looks.

I wouldnt call it a shortage, there are several options out there. I hate slider keyboards anyways. your fingers always touch the top sliding portion, which is really annoying to me.

I love att's pantech slate, that looks like a fantastic device and its one of the better looking qwerty "dumbphones" ive ever seen.

thanks for the feedback. True, there is not a shortage on the market. i was referring to Verizon's shortage. i cant think of any 'dumbphones' that verizon offers that have the front keypad for dialing and the slide out keyboard.

I have a dumb phone for Verizon with a slide-out qwerty and I absolutely love it. Plus it's more of a blackberry style keypad, not the annoying sideways enV type. There's no EVDO and I don't care about the internet, but it makes calls, is a pleasure to text with, and I can use navigator, so I'm pretty easy to please. Even tonight I was in a room of people with AT&T and Sprint and nobody had service, but my little phone was making & receiving calls and texts clearly and easily. It's a Blitz and despite the reviews about it being a piece of crap and "ugly", it's one of the best phones I've used with Verizon (and there's plenty of room between my fingers and the top of the slider...)

Blitz
Samsung Glyde
Samsung i760
XV6800

I think that's a pretty good variety. One piece of **** teenager phone (Blitz), one full internet traditional handset (Glyde), and two WinMo devices with embedded WiFi, one of them with a Rev-A antenna as well.

What, exactly, were you looking for? A new one to launch every 8 weeks when the market niche is already fulfilled with these models?

Personally, I hate the Glyde and love my Voyager. The flip-up is wa...

For the record, I am not a teenager, and if we're really going to talk about pieces of **** then the Glyde takes top honors over the Blitz any day.
I also know far too many teenagers walking around with Blackberries. What a ridiculous world.

I just had a customer get all pissy at me because she bought a blackberry online for her 13 year old andI wouldn't block mobile web for her.

Apparently they don't like reading the fine print and her 13 year old daughter now has a 29.99 data package.
