I was wondering if anyone could clarify this plan. I would assume there is no charge to call Canada and it just takes away from the monthly minutes? If someone could explain this plan better I would greatly appreciate it.
thanks in advance! 😁

Yeah calling to Canada will be the same as calling the USA. For this reason, they limit the Night and Weekend minutes as well as the Mobile to Mobile minutes to 1000.

You might consider The Hub, to be launched in the next two weeks. It'll be unlimited calling TO Canada, included in the $35/mo for the service on that device.

Can some one tell me more about this plan or the Hub you guys mentioned? I have been looking for a VZW plan that includes calling to canada with in the included minutes since I was moved from my grand fatherd plan (that included canada calling) to a new plan during a phone upgrade few years back with out me knowing it. Appreciate your help.

Thanks
Ik.

The HUB is a VOIP plan. You need good broadband unlimited Internet (meaning, not low-end broadband). The device gives you unlimited calls to anyone in the US and Canada, as well as with any Verizon cell phones ON YOUR ACCOUNT. This is separate from your cell phone.

Were you moved to the Nationwide +Canada plan? It should be the same thing as North America's Choice, assuming that was what you were on.

IF you're calling TO Canada and not so much ising your cell IN Canada, then you could be on a normal Nationwide plan (which is $20 less with unlimited mobile to Mobile and Nights & Weekends), and use the HUB to make all your calls to Canada while you're home.

If you're calling while in Canada, or without broadband, or if you fall in...

Thanks. I wasn't sure what plan I was in back then but they moved me to some other plan 5 yrs back which ended my free calling to Canada using included minutes and free nights and weekends. My wife's family lives in canada and she calls them almost every other day. So far she has been using the voip based calling card that is charging 2c per minute from my home phone but can't really use it when we are not at home. I guess that would be the same for Hub as well except I would be paying for Hub instead of the calling card.

Well i hope they bring back the north america plan including canada again 🙂

Thanks again for the info.

I'm not sure what you mean. The Nationwide +Canada is current, and the only difference between it and the North America's Choice plan is that the old plan included Mexico. The current plan, if you take out the Mexico calling, is exactly the same as the old plan.

Unless, of course, the plan you're thinking of is much older, but I'm not aware of an older version of that plan that gave you more. The old AND current plans I'm talking about both had minutes + 1000 shared nights and weekend + 1000 shared mobile to mobile minutes.

Does the current plan not work for you?
