Kendallish

I know that Verizon offers something to store my contact list. I cannot remember the name of it though.

I have the Voyager and am charged for data usage. Would I be charged to download this software to my phone???

I think it's available for the Voyager. Try menu, media center (or get it now), browse & download, get new app, backup assisant. Download the backup assistant to your phone. That puts your contacts on line. I think as long as you have an online account it is free, even though they say there are charges. I have never been charged for backup assistant. My son has the Dare but he has the VCast monthly plan so I can't really answer the MB usage question definitively.

Name is backup assistant

Yes, you will be charged for MBs

If you want to avoid the charge, sign up for the VCast trial and then cancel it before the trial is up

If you're signed up for My Verizon, then the MB charges associated with Backup Assistant will be credited (although I do believe that they'll appear on the bill, along with the credits).

Even to download the application? I'm not talking about the use of the application after its on the phone.

You'll receive a $1.99 credit. Realistically, you shouldn't accrue more than that to browse for and download Backup Assistant. As for the usage of the application, I honestly don't believe that it'll bill MB's, but I'm not 100% on that. I'm pretty sure that Backup Assistant uses SMS to transfer contacts, not MB's. The SMS *might* be billed. Not sure.

The only thing the My Verizon account sign up stops is the $1.99 monthly application. If one has the per MB plan (no VCast Vpak) then one will indeed be charged for downloading the Backup Assistant app to the phone.

If you're an employee, then check out the information for Backup Assistant pricing. While you will incur the $1.99 fee for MB's, it'll be credited on the same bill by an automated system credit.
