Anyone read about this Verizon Hub.. Looks very cool.. I am moving into a new home and will presumably get FIOS, wonder if there is additional fee for this on top of what you would pay for fios phone without the hub. Really looks very cool.

The Hub would be an additional line of service onto a Verizon Wireless account. You need internet access and router (if i'm not mistaken- it's been awhile since i did the training on this).

Isn't the HUB a landline product? Why would it be on the wireless account?

I don't have the exact answer to that question. Its a product that VZW is selling not verizon communications therefore its going to be on the VZW bill. It has all the features for the wireless portion (text/pix, access to vcast and the web thru the device).

One must have a broadband connection for the router and while VZW will position Verizon Communications broadband if the customer does not already have one, it isn't a dealbreaker if the customer has Cox, Comcast, etc... Think Vonage but with VZNavigator, Chaperone and Unlimited MSG to VZW customers.

I think you would get rid of your landline and let this replace it since you get unlimited everything and it functions as a quasi/laptop since you can do some Internet things on it. You can also send and receive texts on it.

it is a way for Verizon to keep revenue. if people are dropping their landlines in droves, they might want to use the HUB to replace it and get to use the latest technology.
