VZ Nav Help!

so, in Oct, I bought a Pearl and added the data plan and all the stuff I needed for it. I also DL'ed the VZ nav for high end devices...and it ran horribly. It was slow and laggy and just impossible to use. Shortly after that, VZW unlocked the BB maps app, and I deleted the VZ nav off my phone, since I didn't need it anymore. I didn't pay too close attention to my bill, but the next month after I deleted it was about $10 less, so I had assumed it came off my bill as well. well, i finally looked at my bill and saw that I have still been being charged for it. I called in, and was told that they wouldn't remove the charges for me because they know I still have it. But I don't...and I don't know how to prove it to them over the phone. If I take i...

It's a feature that can be removed. You shouldn't have to go into a corp store to request a feature change.

Even if you d/l VZ Nav it won't work w/out the feature on, so it wouldn't matter even if you had it on still...

so...basically...the lady i talked to was full of crap? cuz she said that she can remove it, but if i still have it on my phone, i'm going to be charged every month. and i kept telling her that i didn't have it on my phone, so that's fine, just remove it, but she wouldn't...she kept telling me that i'm gonna be charged... 😕

That's only true in the case of dumbphones. For dumbphones the feature code is $0.00/month. It is just there as a placeholder to let the CS Rep know you have that feature. But, even without that flag you could have the item on your phone through GIN and be charged monthly for it.

On smartphones it is the opposite. You can have the program on your phone and not get charged for it. If you aren't getting charged, it won't work. The code for smartphones actually bills you $9.99/month (not the $0.00).

Not always, just in this situation yes. A lot of times it is what it is. However, in this situation the rep was just misinformed.
