if someone was eligible for their NE2 on April 16, and they wanted the Voyager, and they went in soon...like this weekend...would a corp store be able to help them upgrade early? or are they SOL til april 16th?
...
If said customer were to go to the corporate store before April 16th they would offer them an annual upgrade available after completing a full calandar year into the two year contract. The annual upgrade prices are standard discount prices. If the customer waited until the 16th of April they would recieve their NE2 credit in addition to the standard promotional pricing. The credit usually is in the ammount of $50 or $100 depending on current priceplan.

Remember, the NE2 date is actually 4 months before the contract expires (so they offer it after 20 months on a 24 month contract) This is why getting an upgrade date pushed up is unlikely.

There are times that VZW runs promos on early NE2s. In fact, most of last year a lot of customers were targetted with flyers for an Early NE2 promo. They received the exact same benefits they would have gotten if they waited for their true NE2 date. And, there wasn't anything special the sales rep had to do... the system would automatically recognize the flagged accounts and price accordingly.
Just gotta watch your communications via email or mail from VZW.

oh...hmmm...i don't think we got anything like that...but we have an old address on file as billing and i just pay our bill on the internet, so we may have missed it. would an auth retailer be able to do that, too, or only corp stores?
...
Some "Premium Retailers" can do most of the functions of the corporate stores. There is a small but very significant difference between "Authorized" and "Premium" retailers. If you do have a "Premium" retailer close to you, you should be able to get 90% of your wireless business done there. Just know that going through a retailer usually requires at least a 6 month seperate contract for the equipment purchased through them. That being said, if you cancelled with Verizon Wireless within that 6 months you would pay early termination fees with VZW and an additional fee to the retailer for equipment charges. read the contract carefully.

oh, ok...but that won't matter to us too much, we've been with VZW for a long time and have no intention of changing...but that kinda sounds like wirefly.com stuff. like, signing 2 contracts, one for VZW and one for the retailer, and i don't know how i feel about that in general.
